Get in Virgil! (or an own goal)

Was just about to say I can't believe we're not doing more from corners with the hight that we have.

I was worried the last 10 minutes. We sit too far back and invite way too much pressure. The fact we dont have any ball winners in midfield makes it so easy for teams to play through us.

All in all its a excellent result, we are the only team to take 3 points from Sunderland at their own ground.

I'll fess up. I didn't have the balls to watch live, so I followed on the Beeb. Yes, I'm a coward. I was actually dreading this game more than City at home.
Relieved to see the final result. I was actually waiting to read an equaliser was scored
So, give it to me straight - did anyone cover themselves in glory? Was Mo ***** again? Gakpo? Any more injuries?

Thought it was a scrappy win myself but feck it, its 3 points!!  Best for us tonight was Virgil and Konate. Dealt with their forwards really well and nothing got past them. Virgil MOTM cos he got the goal.

Endo really unlucky. Looked like a bad injury but credit to the lad for trying to play on. Probably the wrong thing to do though. Wirtz was ok but sometimes he needs to put the boot through it and stop trying to pass it into the net. Etitike has poor fitnessand looks dead on his feet after 70 minutes. Gakpo just a little better than usual but still not good enough. Salah was garbage. Far too slow to react or get any quick shots off and just strolled after lads when they went on the attack. Slot is afraid to take him off as well but he wont care as he went level with Gerrard for assists.

Delighted with the points but the performance was just about good enough. Probably more will be made of it though because its the 1st time anyone won there this season.

Instead of rating players whether they played well, I'd like to be see that rated on their impact on the game.
Surely that's the measure of who's performing and who isn't and if Mo for example is consistently having no impact we need to change tactics or sub the player.
Likewise the manager's tactics during the game should be rated whether they were correct, successful and if not, the reason he failed to achieve his objectives.
Players and the managers tactics must be held to account more, it's what we pay them vast amounts of money to do

Polish it up however you like but the fact is we beat a newly promoted team 0-1 with a header from a defender that was actually hitting the post until their man stuck his napper on it. We should be putting teams like this to the sword and racking up a few more goals TBH. I mean a win is a win but feck me we do it the hard unconvincing way at times with Uncle Festa's rouge tactics, team selections and players not upping their game.
I'm not seeing enough to be fair

Given our recent form and although they are newly promoted Sunderland's unbeaten at home form is undeniably impressive, I was almost tempted to give this game a miss.
I did however grit my teeth and tuned in for the match.
We did ok.  For me there weren't any individual standout performances but on the upside, Robbo again showed why he still merits a starting place ahead of Kerkez and Wirtz continues to show immense promise . On the downside Gakpo ? predictable and ineffective, Salah ? can't diss an absolute legend for the club BUT yeah, if we can get some good money for him it's time to move on.
Overall rating for the team performance ? I'll give it a 7/10

Kerkez is growing on me tbh woof, he's got a bit of tenacity and fight about him.
We've massively underperformed this season but a trophy and a top 4 finish would probably get Arne off the hook even though not just Liverpool fans but most neutral observers thought we were going to walk the league and have a good go at the treble.
Tomorrow's game is massive for him.

I’ve been a huge critic of Kerkez, but he’s improved over the past few games.

Shame the same can’t be said for most of our other first team players.

Agree with this Yakka , I'm sure he'll eventually come good for us BUT as things currently stand I'd still start a fit Robbo ahead of Kerkez.

I'm happy with either of them playing mate i think they are probably playing as well as each other atm, toss of a coin job for me atm.
It's a pity both Bradley and Frimpong got injured the other week, those 2 were building a nice little partnership over the other side of the pitch down our right hand side, the glaring weakness in our team atm seems to be the lack of threat from out wide, Frimpong was causing teams genuine problems with his pace.
