FSG are well aware of the strategy and obviously give it full support. This season is a building season to get rid of unwanted players and bring in young lads. Next season will be consolidation, young lads fighting for regular places whilst bringing in better/more experienced players once the budget permits. Its kinda what Rafa was doing but he was bringing in 16-17 year olds whereas Buck is bringing in 20-23 year olds - no new tricks on show, just building a young squad on a tight budget balanced against a frustrated fanbase. Yes, its' bl**dy frustrating especially for the awl b'stards on the forum.

it said it could have been even worse too with reina having to rush off his line and block an etherington shot when he found himself in acres of space after the defence had gone AWOL.
apparently rodgers gave the players christmas day off and the echo is saying maybe he should have had them in practising defending set pieces because they obviously dont know how to do it.
it also says the stoke fans singing `cant we play you every week` says it all.
apparently suarez stormed off down the tunnel at the end of the game as well

Im not surprised. He must have been angry at himself with all his wastefulness and frustrating play.
He can either be brilliant or sh'ite, and last night he wasnt brilliant...

red till i die!!
the only thing rodgers has persisted with is 4-3-3, there is no high tempo passing, no pressing and no ideas going forward which is what he supposedly going to bring to this team. sturridge, ince, alex, pierce, butland and now di santo is all he seems to be linked with so imo he needs help. fsg need to strenghten the back room staff and maybe a D.O.F pretty quickly. if were in a similar position this time next year then he will need a miracle to keep his job.

thats another thing, if he is trying to recreate a `british barcelona` why are we looking at english players like sturridge and ince who grew up in this country with kick and rush football?
you`d think if someone was genuinely trying to replicate barcelona`s style of play they`d at least sign a lot of technically gifted spanish players. you`d think that would be a decent starting place.
look at the players laudrup brought in to swansea, they lost joe allen but went out and got that hernandez from valencia (who looks skillfull as f##k) and that michu who has been a revelation. i would have thought they are the type of reasonably priced spanish players rodgers would be looking at if he was really trying to recreate a cut price barcelona over here and whatsmore if we were signing players of that ilk then maybe i could see what he was trying to do but we are not.
for some reason we always seem to be linked to his mates from chelsea (sturridge, kalou, alex, di santo, borini etc), swansea (joe allen, williams, vorm) and reading (signurdsson).
call me an old cynic but i just cant see us building a barcelona type team with the players we are being linked with.

Rodgers needs to get the players in he believes will play the type of football he demands ,and rid himself of a captain who looks for all the world like he's
just going through the motions .
The likes of Shelvey and Downing are so poor its heartbreaking to watch ,players the quality of Heighway McManaman used to play those wings .
Its an absolute disgrace that this club and its fans have to endure the soulless mercenaries that are now in their place .
I will continue backing the manager until such time as the players he has to work with are infinitely better than the ones he currently has at his disposal .
Two bad displays( albeit ridiculously inept performances ) are no reason to paint the fella as a failure ffs .
YNWA Although its becoming a lonely walk .
