We've not even come close to winning a league game yet.

We played City off the park for long spells and but for a howler from Skrtel late on would have won the game. Even after that Carroll had a header cleared off the line. We could easily have beat Sunderland had we taken our chances and had a bit more luck in the second half. West Brom we were the better team until they scored a worldy. We then made stupid individual errors which cost us. Fair enough we were poor against Arsenal but to say we haven't come close is just wrong.

Perhaps it seems pedantic, but the fact that we haven't won a game shows just how close we've come. Arsenal played nice footabll for years and never won anything. There is a huge difference between playing well and winning games, as we are demonstrating time and time again. An inch from the post might be close, but after 30 or so post hits...are we still coming close? Or are we failing miserably?

We ain't roaring or anything. We are whimpering along, tossing around excuses of how 'close' we are to scoring, or being the complete team, or to winning the league, or indeed, finishing fourth. How 'close' we acme to sigining Clint Demspey..and how clinically we sold the man he was meant to replace.

We have had enough chances to win the games V City,w.brom + Sunderland.

Until we employ someone up front who can score, then expect more of the same.

We may as well play Glen Johnson there.

Arsenal's failure to win is not down to their tactics. It's down to the fact they keep selling their experiences and established players so they are constantly in a rebuilding process. Our squad is largely lacking in the same thing. If it's the tactics then why are Barcelona not shyte?

mascherano played 1 game that season then was sold. he "refused to play" against man city. torres didn't want to be here that season and basically turned it on when he could be bothered. most games he didn't get a kick due to hodgson's dark age tactics anyway.

looking at the fixtures when they came out i said that it wouldn't surprise me if we had no more than 5 points after 5 games, especially under a new manager with new players coming into the side. after united we have norwich, stoke and reading in the next three so i'd expect us to start picking up points then. we still have far too much quality to be anywhere near a relegation battle. goals have to start going in sooner rather than later.

our next game is united at home then it is stoke away where we havent won in the league in a decade, the way we are playing i`d be happy with 2 draws from those games.
2 draws would leave us with 4 points after 6 games (and possibly 14 points behind the top teams).
and thats if we manage to get 2 draws! with the way van persie is knocking the goals in at the moment (plus the way our defence/reina is playing) i cant see him not scoring against us next week and stoke away will be very tough as well, the past few seasons we`ve held our own down there but that was when we had the likes of soto, carragher and carroll in the squad, i cant see the likes of sterling, allen (good player but he`s only about 5 foot 5), borini etc relishing the prospect of playing down there. we are going to be up against it trying to defend set pieces against the likes of crouch, shawcross, huth, wilkinson etc with our team of short @rses. i imagine charlie adam will be fired up and wanting to prove a point as well.
our next 2 games could easily be losses.

When WBA beat us 3-0, I don't believe it was for any other reason than passion. Clarke of course would have wanted to do well and he fired the players up accordingly. My point is that if BR can't get our current team to perform and collect results against the likes of WBA, Sunderland and even Arsenal, and also manages to allegedly be conned by the owners to the point he starts the season with a very understrength squad (and one forward, NO proven strikers), smething is seriously wrong.

I believe he's out of his depth and needs to get to grips real fast. Alas we're stuck with the players we have until january, so it's even more vital that BR shows his dynamic side and shows that he does have what it takes no matter the funding, to get some results. To suggest that we don't have the players for BR's tactics is quite rediculous. If we don't have the players for a quick passing game, well lets play to our strengths whilst we learn new systems. It's not wise to sell all the 'longball' players when we don't have the players for another system. It should have been implemented over time, not in the space of one pre-season where we left our self without a squad to even tread water, let alone move upwards.

To me, BR has displayed some very amateurish errors.

Totally agree. This 4-3-3 is just like the new fashion accessory. Everyone else is doing it but ive asaid all along wheres our plan b. We should of done things more gradually. I want a manager who can change things. Brendan seems very one dimensional to me. Its ok saying he needs time to implement his philosophy but lets be honest if were in the bottom 6 near christmas he isnt gona get the time.

Ask yourself why fans are so depressed at the moment mate?

Outside the Mickey Mouse cup we won earlier this year there really hasn't been much to smile about over the last 2-3 years.

If anything we are regressing to the point were getting 6th place or above will be a monumental feat on the current paper thin squad we have.

Fans have genuine concerns about FSG's future investment in Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers as a manager and the debarcle that was the final day of the transfer window.

Sugar coating over the fact that we haven't won a game yet and are continuing to struggle against mediocre sides doesn't change anything.

And don't give me this s**t about not 'supporting' the side, after so many years we are STILL HERE SUPPORTING LIVERPOOL FC, me I don't live in England but I get up at 3am to watch my side play week in week out.

I think that qualifies me to have an honest opinion of where we are at. F**k me sorry for getting upset at a small and trivial little thing called 'mid table mediocrity'..........

How do you know fans have concerns over Rodgers as a manager?

I have no concerns with Brendan Rogers as Liverpool manager.

I do believe he has been let down by the board and we are desperately short of an out and out goal scorer, hopefully we can do something about that in January.

I dont ever look at the league table till the middle of October anyway (unless we are top of the league!) because depending on how lucky or not you have been with the fixtures it means nothing...  and lets be honest we havent been given the best fixtures..

We've had a tricky set of fixtures which was never going to be easy for a new manager implementing a completely new style of play.
I would have preferred at least 3 or 4 more points by now but its not happened so we move on. 

cant see us getting top 4 this season anyways.  We have no strikers and very little experience in the squad. 
With a top striker, i think we'd have beaten West Brom and Sunderland.

We are on a thread about Brendan Rodgers aren't we?

Do you really want me to go back and pull all the comments fans have posted about the mistakes he has made so far, and what their concerns are?
