I don't know what is true of whats been reported but Agger is demanding double his wages and Rafa wontgive him that so i dont see him signing a new contract any time soon. And in the summer he could go for cheap - less than 8m.

Pompey - No bids for Johnson and Defoe

Portsmouth have strenuously denied receiving any approaches for Jermain Defoe and Glen Johnson.

England international Johnson is reported to be a January transfer target for Liverpool, with a £9million move said to be imminent.

It has even been claimed that the full-back visited the Reds' training facilities prior to Christmas in order to acclimatise himself with his potential new surroundings.

However, Johnson is now considering legal action against the national newspaper which ran the article, with Pompey's executive chairman Peter Storrie at a loss to explain where such stories have come from.

"We have had no approaches for any of our players and that includes Glen," he told The News.

"I know that his agent has taken this story up with the newspaper and is pushing for an apology.

"Glen is livid, everyone is, it's an outrageous story.

"To say we have had a bid for him is a lie, it's just silly season."

Storrie has also dismissed claims from former Fratton Park boss Harry Redknapp that Pompey have received a 'massive' bid for Defoe.

Redknapp's current employers Tottenham, as well as Aston Villa, are believed to have enquired as to the striker's availability, but that is as far as the matter has gone.

"We have had a tentative enquiry about Jermain and told the club concerned he was not for sale unless it was for a very, very big offer," added Storrie.

"As with any of our players, obviously if an exceptional offer came in, such as that for Lassana Diarra, we would consider it, as any club would.

"But no-one has made a bid."

what is he paid now to be considered an idiot for wanting double ?

not that i rate him that highly anyways... if we can sell him for decent money and go out and get a top top center half then i wouldnt mind one bit

Heard a rumour that Liverpool have enquired after Elano, and he may be coming either on loan or for a small fee. Might be a good signing ?

Liverpool remain confident of bringing England right-back Glen Johnson to Anfield in January. (Daily Mail)

The Reds are set to tempt Pompey with a £6.5m offer for Johnson and will also move for Wigan frontman Emile Heskey. (The Times)

Real have agreed a £3.5m deal for Pennant but could decide to sign Wigan's £15m-rated Luis Antonio Valencia or Benfica's Angel di Maria for £17m instead. (Daily Mirror)

Elano would be a good signing, not convinced about Johnson as it stands but I've never really watched him play, so some of you lot are probably in a better position to give the verdict regarding him.

Regarding Agger, no chance I want him to go, I'd be gutted

Rumour at Leverkulsen is that Liverpool is looking to sign Brazillian right mF Augosto Renato. Most on their forum think it is mere talk; player has been there just 6-months, but has been brilliant...

I just hope we keep agger , such a quality player , and he is quite young . In 2,3 years with him in skrtel in the team , i just cant see oposing strikers scoring goals against us

Valencia will to Madrid and we couldn't afford Di Maria.
