Alonso is going nowhere at the moment. The end of the season might be a different story, but there is no way Benitez will sell him in January as we wouldn't be able to get in a good enough replacement likely until the season's over.

Why would Rafa entertain selling him in the middle of what could be a great season? Feck that. What extras are Arsenal going to throw in? Has to be something like a player coming our way for just 15mil.

As for Glen Johnson he seems ok imo. Although tbh Carra has been doing fine at RB he will provide good competition for Arbeloa and will probably be 1st choice before long. 9mil seems much though.

It wont be that much if we manage to offload Dossena for 5 or 6 million.

the rumours are really pathetic... one of our best players leaving and all the ones we're rumoured to be after? are we that desperate??? keep this team for a while and only get rid of the useless players and bring in more quality players... this is what we should be doing...

Not convinced Glenn Johnson would be an improvement on Arbeloa to be honest, in fact I'm almost sure he wouldn't be. He's a good athlete and looks good going forward, but defensively I think Arbeloa is much more solid. I reckon probably Johnson has found his level at Portsmouth, he really couldn't cut it at Chelsea and couldn't manage to nail down a starting spot there despite them not having a top class right back - Ferreira is horrible and they would often shift Gallas or Essien out to the right rather than play Johnson.

£8m for Agger - no chance

If we sold him in January I would be well f*cked off with Rafa. I support the pursuit of Johnson (as I rate him a FB) but not if it means we lose Daniel Agger.

IMO Agger is a future LFC captain.
