If he is REALLY that good...I see no reason we spend 8m on him...

We must get as many good and talented players to challenge Chelsea next season..

We need guys with guts and skills to beat next year Gallactico (Chelsea)...  :p

The guy also states that he was only intrested in Liverpools offer,so he must really want to be here which is a big plus for us as well. :buttrock

He certainly has the ability to whip in a cross, the uefa cup final is evidence of that; his cross for the opener was superb. He is no slow couch either and i cant remember dowing getting past him once. Hes not afraid to have a shot either, struck a thunder bolt against barca, think it hit the post...might have been another game. I'd deffo sign him for 8mil, he looks a real talent and he'd be class for us on the right.

If Alves does sign then that looks a brilliant team, even if we had Fowler alongside Crouch.
Obviously we need strikers but that midfield would dominate any game and the defence would be solid enough.

Hi, I´m a Seville FC supporter. I think Dani Alves will finally be a Liverpool player. The last offer was 18 million € + Kromkamp. Seville has rejected it.

That's the sort of money we won't even pay for a striker!  This could be another Simao.

Sounds like bollox to me mate.

Kromkamp couldn't settle in Spain once, he's hardly going to agree to go back there again now FFS

Liverpool cleared to sign Daniel Alves

Looks like if Rafa really wants him he will come.Tbh im still not sure about him.
He played well in the uefa cup final and looks like a RB/winger with loads of energy and will track up and down the pitch and had age on his side. But the only thing is consistency, can he produce a solid performance every game for Liverpool(apart from the odd poor game) like Finnan did this season??

I hear that the deal is VERY close to being completed. As per usual with Rafa this has been done on the quiet. I expect the deal to be concluded by the weekend. :;):

This is the problem, they know Benitez wants him, they dont want to really sell him,so they will keep pushing the price up until we either pay or walk away.I dont know how long his contract is at Seville but if its a long one he cant really refuse to play, but i did read somewhere that if the offers werent to Sevilles liking then he would be willing to stay,so basiclly they are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of LFC,that seems to be the case with us buy at top price, sell on the cheap.

It appears that the relationship between Alves and the Seville chairman is a decent on so I don't see there being any issue here. I am led to believe that he has 1 year left on his contract...

For £8m I think it's an excellent bit of business. He may play right back for Sevilla but that's because they've got Jesus Navas playing right wing. The guy will play more games as a right winger for us imo, or as a right wing back if Rafa ever wants to change the system.

However imo it doesn't matter if Alves is a right winger who can play right back, or a right back who can play right midfield. Can anyone tell me categorically what Gerrard's best position is? I have my opinion but others will disagree. He's versatile.

So we sign another versatile player (albeit someone who is versatile down the right side of the pitch). What's the problem with that? Provided he does a good job where he is played then that will be more than good enough for me.
