Aye but we know that Liverpool are skint, and if they can't challenge with their current squad can't really do much to improve. A big club like ourselves can go and spend loads of cash in order to improve ;)

We maybe be skint but at least we can still amount a respectable challenge for honours, the same can't be said about you.

How much did you spend in the summer?
We havent spent as much as Man U and we are on the same amount of points and still in two competitions whilst they are not. So whats your point? You are 11th in the league do you think you are our rivals or a threat to us?
BTW we have one of the best managers in Europe whilst you lot dont even have a manager.

I'll say it again for effect, you sound like an Evertonian with your excuses.

A liverpool fan bragging about 3rd. Just shows how downhill you lot really have gone. However, we've gone uphill because we were in the old division two just 15 or so years ago. So now who wants to talk about decline and on the way up etc.

If you were in the old second division 15 years ago, how the hell can you call yourself a big club?

Just going off what Uefa tell us. Afterall, they're the official governing body aren't they? I mean if Uefa tell us we're a small club then fair enough...

Surely if we're not a big club then the european champions would have bigger crowds and more money than us? Which they don't..

Aye me too, nice debate skills you got there buddy. But if a club is bringing in more money and fans than the European Champions, does that not constitute a big club?

Obviously you didn't see Istanbul or the home coming parade and who says we don't have money? Do you work as an account for Liverpool football club.

You take pride in a little table drawn up by UEFA and we'll take pride as being one of the most accomplished teams in Europe.

You see the point I came here to make was about the right to call ourselves a big club. Only team f*cking gerrard fans could take this as an opportunity to think I'm trying to compare the two clubs. I am not. I'm not narrow minded like the majority of you. I know Liverpool are a big club. I'm not here to compare. I'm here to try and figure our why your patheticass fans can't seem to bring themselves to accept us as a big club.

Oh and RE finance, we've undoubtably got much more cash than you lot. Small club richer than the euro champs, not embarrassing at all?

You are a big club in Newcastle with reguards to how many fans go to your stadium plus your stadium is bigger than ours.
But you are not a big club reguarding honours just admit it.
And you can say about Solano, Emre, Owen, Boumsong (Thank god that deal fell through) etc etc, but Souness only out bid us cause we where going to buy these players so IMO they are mercenries we sold Owen for 8 million and you paid double for him after you where his 3rd choice club.

I would'nt want a player at our club if that was the case, do you know I actually felt a bit sorry for your fans when he said he will be fit for England and Newcastle never got a mention?
Duno why I did with your attitude.

Lee, as much as you feel you are right to defend your club in this argument (which in now spanning multiple threads), I feel you are clutching at straws too often on this debate.

Newcastle have a great fanbase, a decent stadium which holds a good number of supporters and a cracking chairman who dishes out cash without a thought, but is a bit trigger happy with his managers.

Bar that mate, that's as far as I can see going for your team. Your team has never consistently been associated with honours, and honours define a club. As well as this, Newcastle have never had a sustained period of longevity in the highest division, nor the top half of the division. Euro appearances leave a lot to be desired.

I'm sure you are in the UEFA top 20, which is great. So are Tottenham and Everton, welcome to the big league. The UEFA rankings mean tosh frankly and I couldn't care where Liverpool are in them in truth.

I'm sure your club is richer than ours, no doubt. I just feel you are fighting a losing battle on this one mate and to a degree always will. My comments are mean;t in the most respectful way as well mate.

I can;t reply to any counter-argument as i'm off the match, but i'll try to check back soon.
