Used to feel sorry for them. Great support despite 50 years of winning fk all , but they've now turned into a complete circus . Not a fan of Fat Sam but even the most blinkered would have to say the fella wasn't given a chance from the off.

The 8th manager to leave a Premier League club this season. It's becoming farcical, and it needs to stop. Recent increases in investment and revenue have unquestionably made the EPL more competitive, and the threat of relegation causes panic mode to set in.

Chairmen, just a little tip; take greater consideration before appointing your manager.

FWIW, I've always wondered why Newcastle have had this 'big club' label attached to them. They've won nothing for years on end, and yet their supporters expect them to be challenging the top four, strange.

The Premiership's as competitive as ever and I'd be shocked if Newcastle managed to break into the top four any time over the next decade. To do so, they'd need an outstanding manager of exceptional pedigree and silly money to spend. TBH, I just don't see it happening.

He was apparently working on bringing in 3 or 4 signings during the window - medicals were apparently about to happen on 2 of them. Where does this leave those deals?

It really does beggar belief that a club can act like that and still keep on going. I'd love to see their balance sheet, and exactly how much of their outgoings in recent years have been on paying managers off.

No surprise really, he should have stayed with his bunch of thugs at Bolton and lived under the pretense he was a good manager ( England Managers job candidate :laugh:

).

He didn't help himself by playing players out of position and IMO MR Barton has to take some of the responsibility also. I don't normally like to see anyone lose their job but I will make an exception this time

Newcastle aren't a big club.

They are sponsored by Northern Rock FFS.

They have 50% of a big stadium.

And that's about it.

They are the self proclaimed big club, christened as much by there "supporters". I remember a while back when kevin keegan was in charge and newcastle were in the old 1st division with my home team grimsby town. The match at st james ended up 1-0 to grimsby and the return leg had a bunch of "supporters" threatening to put everyones windows in down blundell avenue outside the stadium if they lost. I agree with jmac, everything about them is pathetic.

Aiestaran told Coleman that he'd have to coach the players that Pako decides, and Coleman will apparently accept in tomorrow's conference press.

Do you think his relative sucess in Fulham (good one apparently) give him chances enough to be considered in a bigger club like Newcastle? Something tells me that it wouldn't take much negotiating for the magpies should they wanted Chris on the job.

newcastle have to get someone with great prem pedigree now... im sure they'll go english, and im still glad i tipped up harry R.

coleman will come back to the premiership but not with someone like newcastle i think. the fans wouldnt go for it, they need a big name, big character and someone strong
