We know this could all change in a matter of days we beat the Manc’s we then go on a run of 7 or 8 games unbeaten and all the scare mongering will disappear and this particular forum will be a thing of the past…. but in the cold light of day I still cant get my head around what Rafa has ‘really’ achieved apart from the Champions League which was a hard act to follow.

In comparison to the silverware produced and titles won, I think it still suggests [sorry] a true lack of vision and/or talent what annoys me it is  interesting to see former Liverpool players Craig Bellamy and Robbie Keane (originally brought to the club by Benitez) both achieving significant success for other teams on the incline. They are both a brand of Liverpool players we or I loved – the typical game-breakers who regularly produce goals out of nothing.

OK …. Is it the players or the Manager???

And when you watch sky sports touting today the ins and outs of Liverpool and the ‘two man team’ discussed on various radio stations.

I then look at Lucas and then Babel ….  Alberto Aquilani a player that has huge amounts of talent but has spent months on the treatment table …

Then finally a number of weeks ago that George Gillett publicly criticized Benitez for Liverpool’s, at the time, third defeat of the season away to Chelsea.

Gillet insistend that Benitez in the last 5 years had already had the time and finances to produce a title winning side……..

Players or Manager?

I really dont know but this is all very painful

Welcome to the forum mate, there are more than a few lads who post who are around your slender age, dont worry.

Get stuck in and enjoy yourself and ignore the silly posts such as this nonsense to sack Rafa.

And beware of Judge.

If we lose Sunday the season is all but over (Maybe we could win the FA Cup) so they will keep Rafa until the end of the season hoping they have secured more investment.

Of course if we win Sunday, win our remaining Champions League games we will be wondering what all the fuss was about.

The only way Rafa is going is if he decides to, the Amercans haven't go the balls or the money to,

All of which would improve our current squad and surely would of chosen Liverpool over the teams they are at now.

If Rafa goes, I would like a manager that appreciates the quality of English players.

Turner cost 12Mil didn't he? Cattermole would have been a good buy for us. Would easily keep Lucas out of the squad imo.

According to wikipedia Turner cost "at least £6million", you may be thinking of the fee we were linked with him for.

Part of the problem is one or two are decent players, but the minute we get linked with them their price is suddenly doubled. Would we have got Turner for £6m?!?

Didn't we have Warnock at zero cost, same with Owen. Mismanagement in my view cost us with both, allowing Owen into his contract situation and not a good assessment with Warnock ie he was as good or thereabouts as what we had, LB has been a long time issue and still is far from perfect
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Spending £40 million isnt nothing.

With that £40 million he could of brought in 5 good squad players and he didnt. Rafa brought in England's best right back - yes Glen has turned out to be one of the highlights this season but did we really need him? No.

Aquilani has come in and nobody has seen him either - yes he is injured but we needed a replacement for Xabi straight away not November.

And then we sign a useless Greek centre half - his first game at Bolton summed him up. Useless.

Who would YOU play at rightback, then?

You know full well that if he'd signed a lesser player purely to fill Alonso's position immediately you would slate him for that, too. "Oh, he should have waited and bought the right player, yadda, yadda, yadda..."

Rafa wanted Turner, you dick. The owners said "no".

Did he have to sell Arbeloa? No he didnt he sold him to bring Glen in.

Instead of swearing everytime you post put your very small footballing brain into gear and think things through.

Yeah but Rafael only had 1.5 million to spend so you have to point the finger at whoever provides the money - the owners.

Arbeloa wanted to return to Spain. His contract was running out and it didn't look like he was going to sign an extension. We could have kept him for a year but then he'd have gone for free.

Made sense to sell him while we could.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Mate it's better to just ignore Lando, I'm adding him to my personal ignore list, not that I'm advocating anybody else do this,(Mods please take note). I find his constant vulgar, childish and abusive posts highly disruptive to this forum and from now on I will only discuss footballing matters with people who are able to keep a civil tongue, I don't mind having heating arguments about football but I refuse to be dragged down into the gutter!

No self respecting manager will want to come to a club with absolutely bugger all money or ambition anyway which is what the current owners have reduced our club to.

Yeah that is a bit premature, but unless we change how we play and start creating more then we really are fecked. A loss to Manure at the weekend won't mean the season is over but it may well see the start of the end for Rafa, I just can't see us changing this round at the moment, a win against Manure might do it but if we loose then that'll be 5 losses on the bounce.
