Have been thinking about this one the last couple of days, particularly the possibility of facing the mancs in a Champions League the day after I get married in Turkey this May. The fact we avoided this match last year was the only consolation of losing to Chelsea in the semi's, it meant I was spared the dread, nerves and nausea at the prospect of playing them and then possibly losing. I actually don't think I could handle it. My relief on 2007 when they got smashed in Milan was huge. The thought of getting married, spending the week in Turkey and the chance of the whole week being wrecked with a loss to them in the final kills me!

I'm expecting most to go with option 1, preferring the title over all else, i'm going for that one too but stop to think about it for a moment. How GOOD, how AMAZING would it feel to beat those bas..t.ards in a European Cup final? And then reverse it.

This will be the 2nd poll i've ever set up so it's probably gonna go completely wrong!

Losing to Man Utd to any sort of cup final is the worst thing possible IMO, at least we wouldnt lose the league directly against them. Could you imagine if we lost the Champions league final against that lot? we would NEVER EVER hear the end of it, life wouldnt be worth living for ages :(

And then imagine your in Turkey for the week, getting wed on the Tuesday (it was originally the Wednesday but that had to be changed!), your best man is a manc, and if we lost the game you've got to convince your new bride that your not ruled by football (which I am!) and that the game was just a ripple in the water compared to the elation and joy of getting married to the girl you love! I don't think i could bear it!

Fu...c..k it, i'm going for the Champ League win and then it will officially be the happiest week of my life! We'll have to win the title next year :D

I have given this a lot of thought myself in the last two days.  As I see it -  picture a Boot Room meeting between Rafa, Gerrad, Carra and Sammy Lee to put it into perspective.

1. Its our best chance to win the league in 15+ years so we have to grasp it for all its worth - win ALL our remaining games.
2. That said, the loser of the LFC v´CFC 1/4 final will have a boost avoiding 2 semi final games during the key run in period.
3. Two games against Barcelona will knock the stuffing out of us between league games.
3. Ure are also going for the FA Cup during the same run in period so will be under pressure and tired - CL, EPL and FA Cup.

Despite all above knowing that the 3 scousers would kill to win the league, Rafa´s responsibility to the club is to maximise the club´s earnings and that means beating Chelsea and Barcelona and getting to the CL final, and NOT throwing the CL to focus on the league for emotional reasons. The difference between losing in the 1/4´s and final is probably a fair few million - money we need to build a stadium and strengthen the squad.

In short I swing between 'throw the CL' and focus on the league to 'Go for them both' to max the earnings and win the CL, but probably lose the league.

When you add the need to maximise the earnings into the equation, it makes a fairly straight forward decision mighty complicated.

I voted for option 2, much as though I want to win the league I cant stand the thought of losing to the Mancs in the CL final.........

I really wish we had drawn them in our side of the cup draw! The thought of that cup final match-up hanging over me wedding day scares the sh...ite outta me, although it will kill any wedding day nerves I might have had and give me best man plenty of material! I actually think we are gonna fall down against Chelsea and can see a mancs v Barca final but the though of the mancs winning the thing and spoiling my week gets the blood boiling as well! It's a horrible horrible choice to make isn't it!?

i'm going for the European win (at elast i would if i could vote!), it's the only option with my wedding i think

Title, and I've changed sides on this question in the last 3 years. 3 years ago I would have preffered Europe.

But now we are already respected (and feared) in Europe, and that the best players will see us as an interesting option, I want the league title especially to see the joy of those who go to the stadium and away games.

the joy of winning the league title would be completly eradicated if we lost the champions league final three days later to the mancs

Kin ell Scott what a horrible question to post  :D

Seriously, i read the title before having a look an thought league all day.

But like you have said, imagine we win the league are on a massive high then lose the european cup final to them ?

That doesnt bear thinking about.

Am not greedy enough to believe we can win both, but cant we just win the league and united win fook all  :D

Decisions decisons.

By the way i couldnt vote, too tough, i am officially a sh!thouse.

If we win any and they win none i will celebrate forever.

Do you know what though i went through a similar situation in 77 , we were going for the treble , lLeague won, we played them in the fa cup final, broke my heart to get beat by them but it only took me  a few days an a train journey from hell to get over it :nod But this time erm no i honestly think i would be done for to get beat by them in  European cup final, Especialy in our Rome

Ah youve got me i think im being swayed to lets batter them in Rome,
