f9torres, I was quite impressed with Aguero, but he seems to be playing MUCH further forward than he used to, was that just due to the score at the time or does he play in a similar way most of the time now?

He's a guy looking for goals at the moment and gets a wonderful pass from Gerrard and a chance to knock one in and he tries to be fancy for no reason.

The goal would have been cheered no harder if he had suceeded with his showboating move.

In the end, it went a hell of a long way to making the result a draw and not a win.

I like my fellow Irishman, always have, but that was just a dumb and un-necessary move last night.

2 goals up in the first half. AM would have found it very hard to come back from that.

Looking at his face after he missed, I'd say he was calling himself a gobsh1te too.

Do you actually think he tried that flick because he was trying to show-off? That there was some sort of thought process involved? "It's an easy finish but i know! I'll try something audacious coz it will make me a look like a football genius". IMHO he simply made the wrong choice, maybe he didn't fancy hitting across the ball? (not an easy thing to do) with a cross that was fizzed in so fast? maybe the pace of it caught him by surprise? maybe he should have used his other foot? Who knows? He had to make the decision in an instant and regretted it afterwards, simple really. It seems Robbie gets some pretty tough loving from his own compatriots. You calling him a gobshi..te is just about the most ironic thing I've read on here in a while.

He chanced his arm and made a balls of it. Simple as that. Very uncharacteristic of him and I don't think he'll be trying that again soon.

And I'm sure his was called much, much worse (than a gobsh1te) in the pubs across Ireland...jesus...I'm being mild!   :nod

Folks, I ended up in Germany on business this week and didn't get to see the game. Mightily pi$$ed off about that. Didn't even get to read the match reports 'cos I didn't get a chance to buy a paper.
Anybody care to sum up how we played, should we have won etc. ?
I just read some fellow countryman berate Keane, but then everybody does that over here (me included, from time to time !) so I won't read much into that...
