LIVERPOOL VS STANDARD LIEGE - Champions league qualifier - 2nd leg

Very disappointed that we created so little, Kuyt and Benayoun just don't do enough going forward while Keane and Torres have had little in the way of space or time to create anything. Reina has been outstanding and has kept us in the match. At home we should be creating much more than this.

We are lucky to be level.  Not at our best but credit where it's due this team are good and they're making us look bad at times.

Babel needs to come on for Benayoun, he's well off the pace tonight.  Keane still hasn't adapted to our system, he's not in the game at all.

This is very dangerous for us at the moment.

Why in hell is LFC TV showing highlights of the first leg.  I don't want to see that mess again.

As for the game, nice to see that as predicted the rotation and wholesale styling has been binned for the time being. This game last season would definately have seen a minimum of four changes and probably many more. Unfortunately, our form doesn't sound like it's improving much, and here's hoping we can just grind out a result. At some point, I think we are going to have to consider reverting to type in this game and going 4-5-1. At least that formation disguises the fact that Kuyt and Benayoun are nowhere near good enough.

Should have started the game in our old formation and played Keane outwide or brought him off the bench suppose we would have if masch could play.

Gapping big holes in the team its weird I know new players are settling in but missing Crouch big time and some of our old heads riise, and hyypia.

Lacking experience to kill them off.

God bless reina.

No mate , they have made some late tackles and not even one yellow card has been shown yet , ref needs to get a grip and stamp his authority

This is a joke. Benayoun cant even keep the ball. Kuyt is doing nothing either. Why didnt Babel start?

When your wide player loses the ball in central midfield 5 times during one half ... I think it's quite obvious where the problems are.

Therein lies the problem.
Need proper wingers for this mate.
Benayoun and Kyut aren't proper wingers.

Sadly Ciggy, it's Liege who have lacked the experience to kill us off, not the reverse.

Over the two legs we should be out of it by now.

Sabre wrote:The most worrying thing to me is the actions in which we lacked concentration and we allowed them to create danger. In the last minutes at least we didn't make that kind of mistake.

As for the pass and move, today I prefer reaching 7 times and not allowing any counter, rather than reaching 14 times and allowing 2 counters, they have the pace to do harm. I think we'll win, don't worry!

I agree the bit of us not using the wings properly.

Come on reds!

I understand what you mean Sabre, but for me its more important for us to create something rather than neat passing that gets us no where. Especially as we are playing so narrow, the only way to make it work is by playing the ball into space to someone on the move. Passing to feet wont work especially when they are keeping it so tight when we have the ball.
