Ahh the awesome Darren Huckerby.

The MLS is obviously trying to bring its reputation up, by bringing over over-the-hill English players into the league. I don't know whether its the fact the sports casters failed to do their research or they believe that two Championship titles on two seperate ocassions with two seperate teams is impressive within itself (Well, considering that the Championship is the Fourth most watched and attended league in Europe)?

Either way, it's hilarious to see Darren Huckerby confused.

My local side Toronto FC were trying to land this guy to play but he rejected us and went to San Jose because of the better weather and they play on real grass (as oppose to turf we play on). The worst part is they play in a minor league baseball field (though they are going to be building a new stadium).

Bringing in Darren isn't the type of player who is raising the profile of the league, he is simply another player in the league. Much like my local side who has the likes of Danny Dichio, Lauren Robert, Rohan Ricketts and Carl Robinson. These players are unlike a Beckham, Blanco, Lopez and Gallardo who have more drawing power because of their reputation.

I think this just shows how dumb the general sports media is in a lot of places in America

Lauren Robert, Danny Dichioand Rohan Ricketts...these guys would struggle to get in into a League 1 side

i saw this on youtube. very funny - but to give huckerby credit he handles it well with a sense of humour. the guy interviewing him is a complete bell end.
