this fix thing makes you wonder though, after chelsea had that run in with uefa they suddenly started getting barcelona regularly not to mention us.
when uefa let both us and everton in i always thought it was a bit coincidental that everton drew villereal who were probably the toughest team in the qualifyers back then, it was almost like they didnt want five english teams in the group stages.
who knows???

Don't suppose it had anything to do with the fact that Liverpool , Barca and Chelsea just happened to be amongst the top 8 teams in europe.?

The winner of our 1/4 will get to the final, as will the winner of Manure/Roma quarter.

Strange that to win the CL this year we´ll have the 1/4´s and semis down in Larn-don and we´ll have to go all the way to friggin´Mos-cow to beat the Mancs.   Its supposed to be an international competition isnt it for god´s sake. ???

for me this is def a fix , the odds of predicting the draw is something like 100/1 or a lot more depending on who's maths you accept. Now OK some people argue that this poster is only one of many who all gave different predictions on different sites,  true BUT his wasn't just a prediction he was also saying there was a fix in. But the real clincher here is that the bookies stopped taking bets meaning that an unusual amount had been wagered on one particular result. Now if it was just a case of different people offering many different possible outcomes and one of them just striking lucky so to speak, then the betting would also have been spread out to reflect this . So we have the combination of--posters accusation of a rigged result before the draw----the same poster getting the draw right ---- and bookies refusing bets because of irregular betting patterns! ???  ??? The odds of this occurring without a fix must be millions to one.

Bookies wont normally take bets on anything that is pure chance

It is not impossible for someone to predict the result of the draw, people predict longer shots than that. just recently some bloke won a million on a 50p bet ???

It is no different than someone winning the lottery

It is no different than someone winning the lottery

bookies will take bets on anything! Pure chance or not they just offer odds that are lower than any particular result occurring. Say for example there were 30 possible outcomes to a pure chance event , they would initially offer odds of maybe 20/1 on any one possible outcome , if one outcome then gets more money staked on it then the odds get lowered for that particular possible outcome and lenghened for the others .  They cant lose with this method they may take the occasional hit if a favrite wins  but overall they win big time. So you see bookies are really keen to take wagers in a purely chance event its how they make their money after all . They are in fact keener to take bets on pure chance events as the punter skill or judgement of past form ect has no effect on the bookies win margin!

easier example      assume all six dogs have the same form ect

in a six dog race all six dogs may start with odds of  4/1   NOT the   5/1  it should be  ------- bookies win

It is not impossible for someone to predict the result of the draw, people predict longer shots than that. just recently some bloke won a million on a 50p bet .

He didn't just predict the result, he said there was a FIX and then he gave the right result, then the bookies stoped taking bets. So it would be more like your man with his 50p telling everyone in the betting shop he was going to win the million with these particular horses, then the betting shop refusing his bet, then his horses coming in  :rasp  :rasp

Of couse all this CAN still happen just by pure chance (however unlikely )  but the long odds of this defo means there has to be an investigation  i feel.

Paddy Power: To Qualify for Semis

Arsenal 4-5        Liverpool 10-11

I think it's too early for the actual odds on the game
