Quarter final and semi final - Draw

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Maybe from a monetary point of view it would be in Eufa's interest this season to have an all English semi-finals? They are just renegotiating the TV rights at the moment and the BBC are supposedly determined not to lose out again. Maybe if there are 4 English clubs in the semi's it would add a few quid to their bids?

An all English Semi-Final would be a disaster for EUFA

The dream for england as a whole would be for all 4 teams to make the semi's, somehow though i think there will be at leaset one all english tie.

Yeah im worried whenever we are the big favourites in a CL tie though

Our best will probably turn up when we are playing the better teams as usual

The Besiktas supporters were sound Igor no problems but them Fenerbache fans different kettle of fish mate look at the worst fans in this country years ago when we had all the hooliganism and treble it thats how bad they are.

I went last year to Istanbul for a shoppin trip with my daughter and to visit some people i met there in 2005 i went to a game Fenerbache v Trabson i ve never seen anything like it in my life and apparently its like that every week,

Nah thats one team id like to avoid mind you if we do draw them ill still go

Have to admit I fancy our chances against them more over two legs than I would do in the final.

The probability that the Champions League quarterfinal draw will see all four EPL teams matched against each other is very small.

After scouring probability websites, reading up in Champions League chatrooms, and emailing a mathematician, I was unable to figure out the exact probability that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool would each draw one of the other EPL teams represented.

But the probability is small, definitely less than 10 percent.

Most of those who had taken a stab at it had mistakenly assumed in their calculations that the EPL teams would be drawn first. Without boring the reader, the calculations must focus on the numerous combinations of ties that are possible, accounting for drawing home and away as well.

If Dr. Math is right, there are 1,680 possible ways the draw could come out.

Chances are much better that two EPL teams will play each other and the other two will be matched against one of the other four teams from Turkey, Spain, Italy, or Germany.
