LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED - Its time....its time to finally beat the

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The last time i started a match thread we ended up beating besiktas 8-0. So i hope we end up thrashing manure.

We should be able to win if (and a BIG IF), rafa picks a sensible team (no sissoko) with the right balance (no kuyt, voronin or crouch as a left or right winger).

Anyway would like to see this team.

               Reina
  Finnan   Carra   Hyppia  Riise/Arbeloa
  Benayoun   Gerrard  Mash  Kewell
              Torres     Crouch

1)This is the only team i like to start with every match (until alonso and agger returns).

2)Then Bring on Babel and Kuyt/voronin to kill the game as always.

3)If we do this every game, we would have a successful season.....

Walk on....

Right here waiting for you, Rock to start this thread .. :D

I am taken to believe that last evening's starting lineup with Marseille was, in the eyes of Rafa, his best 11 available today (not counting Xabi, Agger & Pennant). He threw in his 'As' surely as he considered this a CL 'finals'. So for those not even coming in as subs, I felt we can presumed that they maybe put on sale this Jan or end season - Crouch or Momo? Voronin or Leto?

Thus for this coming wkend 'vital' PL match at home with MU i expect a 'no changes' starting line up - but ofcourse baring injuries to any.  Many eyes (including the Yanks) will be seeing for themselves the Best Of LFC this Sunday.

I completely agree however, I would have Arbeloa in place of Riise.

Also, I am on the fence between Kuyt and Crouch. Otherwise it is the best lineup. Benayoun HAS to be on the right and Kewell HAS to be on the left.

I would pick kuyt ahead of crouch... for the simple fact that crouch won't get anything from ferdinand and vidic (they cannot be easily bullied in the air... vidic can probabl out-jump crouch)... whereas kuyt's and torres' running can cause them more problems...

I'd probably go for the same line up as against marseille... maybe put lucas instead of mashcerano...

Riise would be turned inside out, outside in and get slaughtered by the Man U right winger - it could be Ronaldo, Giggs or Nani. So I will feel safer with Arbeloa as leftback, at least he knows the basics of defending and marking. Other than that, I've no complaint with the line-up against Marseille to start against Man U.

i think the line up will be something like

Reina
Arbeloa Hyypia Carragher Aurelio
Benayoun Gerrard Sissoko Riise
Kuyt/Crouch Torres

but im not too sure on that one.....what i am sure of is we will be all over them like a rash, flies on :censored:, white on rice all of that....and will go on to win the match.

i know even if its a draw or a loss we are not out of it and blah blah blah but no, this is about beating the old enemy.

I hope we go out with the same squad that we beat Marseille with. Bring Babal on it the later stages to kill it off and if needed to score a match winner. Torres and Babal up front together would be amazing! Especially in the last 15-20 minutes when Manure's defence are getting tierd the'yed run them ragged and both of them allways have a finnishing product.

Reina

Arbeola
Carragher
Hyypia/Agger (if fit)
Risse

Kewell
Gerrard
Mascherno (Sub for Lucas to hold the game up with in the last (15/20 minutes)
Benayoun

Torres
Kuyt (Switch for Babel or Crouch depending on score)

This one's all about mentality.  I said in another thread that our lads need to go into this one thinking that they're in such a rich vein of form that the Mancs will have to play an absolute blinder to take anything from the game on our patch in front of our supporters.  If they treat this as their second cup final inside a week, where drawing or losing is not an option--and that includes Rafa--I think we might just win this convincingly.
