It will never be £10m, probably a lot lot less than that. With villa you're talking small club mentality and manager, if they ever spend £10m on a player it will be someone like Ashley Young (£9.65m), a Stilian Petrov or a Carew-like striker.

I'm guessing it will be around £4m-£6m, a good price nonetheless, but way shy of what some are estimating. If they pay £10m for a keeper who is good, but not £10m better than Sorenson or Taylor then they are more stupid than Roy Keane and others who are given millions and waste them
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Its £8.2m mate, so with the £1.8m they paid in August to loan him its £10m

£10M for a player we don't need can't be bad.

£10 mil! SELL! SELL! SELL!

seriously he's a decent keeper but is never gonna be number 1 here, so for if the money being quoted is true then we must sell at that price

i for one would keep scott and let his get exposure in the carling cup and fa cup and that would give him match experince , the only reason u guyz say carson is not good enough for us because we are comparing him to top keepers but don't forget for a player who si always on the bench for us and so young , he helped us by making some fantastic saves aginast juventes in the season where we won the champiosn league ... 10 mill is really worth it and for a keeper who ahs only spent his time on the bench and has always been having loans spells thats a good price with the 9 mill profit we could either use that to get a good left winger or a centre back ...

Feck me fella you got a split personality or what? Sounds like you're having an argument with yourself in that post. So, is it "I for one would keep Scott", or is it "that's a good price with the 9 million profit we could ..."?

Well, I agree with personality number 2--selling him for around 9 million is excellent business for a lad who will not likely ever get a proper look-in with us due to Pepe's brilliance.

Just put it in the contract that he cant play against us in any games this season

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to do that, there was a big fuss about Utd possibly having some deal like that with Everton over Tim Howard.

Good business for everyone. Reina is no.1 and he is young with a long contract ahead of him. Carson needs first team football to carve a career out for himself - he's too good to be a young up and coming understudy, and he's too young to play out the last 2-3 years of his career as a back up at a club like ours.

A good deal for everyone.

Oh, and one of the long standing complaints about us is that we never seem to make money on players. (This is to be expected, since when a player arrives here it is the pinnacle). That said, I think Rafa is doing pretty well in this department, and most of the players he has bought tend to hold their value or go up in value. This isn't the most important thing, but it's worth pointing out.

Excellent business if its true. One wonders how much we could get for Crouch if Carson is worth 10 million.??We should use the money to buy Quaresma.

It's painfully rare for us to make any kind of wedge on a player.

Am I right in thinking that - alongside maybe the £8m we got for Owen - this is the most we've ever made selling someone on?
