The signing of Fernando Torres is a great summer blessing. He will contribute massively with speed, strength and technical ability up front for the next many years scoring an ocean of goals for us.

I'm in ecstacy over this transfer.

£20 million is a nice surprise....

Hope he fits in well...thats half the job done, then with his talent and the kop the performances will come naturally.

Well i've held back my opinion until we've signed the lad , so now he's signed here goes.

£16 million + Garcia is a feckin bargain as far as i'm concerned.

What will we get for that , well what we know is

He is a proven Striker at La liga and international level ,

He was captain of his club from age 19

He is only 23 and has alot of years to give to our club.

He is fast and skillfull and can play on his own upfront or behind in the hole or on the wing as he has for alot of last season.

He can improve with better players around him.
Although alot of us wanted a 20 to 30 goals a season man , rafa obviously isn't concerned about that , he said himself ,he would be happy to get 15 goals from all his strikers ,torres can certainly do that.

It's not just goals that he will bring its his all round play and ability , he will create alot aswell .He will bring the best out of Kuyt and crouch imo .

I'll make a bold statemant now , we all will be saying that torres was an absolute bargain this time next year , barring injuries.

Tell me about the captain's armband you displayed during a game against Real Sociedad last season, with You'll Never Walk Alone written on the inside?

There is a group of my mates, about five or six of us, and we've all grown up supporting Liverpool. Because they are all so committed to Liverpool, they've had We'll Never Walk Alone tattooed on their arms. It's changed slightly because it's a symbol of our friendship as well as our support for the club. Obviously I couldn't have that tattooed on my arm playing for Atletico, but they gave me this armband as a present for my last birthday. Fernando Torres Welcome..

£20m (or £16m + garcia, whichever way you wanna look at it) is a good piece of business for a player of his reputation & calibre. gillet & hicks won't be messed with by the looks of it. just what we need - rock hard businessmen at the helm

It was being reported on ssn scott , that Lfc officials have said that they paid 30 million euro's for torres ,which equates to roughly £20 million.
