Fernando Torres - Would you have him back?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ola Mr Benitez » Fri Jun 14, 2013 11:53 am

There are loads of rumours that Jose doesn't really fancy Torres and the likelyhood is that he will be sold (latest rumour puts him at Barcelona for around £17 mill). So here is the question.

Would you like to have him back here?

Would he fit in to BR's plans?

Would he even come back?

Last season he scored 22 goals which I think made him Chelsea's highest scorer and looked like he was really improving, could he fit back in? Would the majority of fans "forgive" him?

I think he could do a job for us - the guy is big and strong and definately knows where the net is and the understanding between him and Gerrard was amazing. It would also be brilliant ti get him back for under £20mill after selling him for £50 mill!!!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

If BR thinks we need him, I could tolerate it with the emphasis on him making it up with the fans. But would I buy him as a squad player because he's available? No.

Don't like going backwards, even if we make a profit. Wish him well though

Wouldn't have him back and no doubt he'd prefer to sit on Barca's bench and pick up Sh*t loads more medals whilst contributing very little a la Spain.

Not for me. His goal tally in the Premiership is not great. A big chunk of those 22 goals were against some very average European competition. We had the absolute best out of him. if Rafa couldn't get him scoring regularly in the league then I doubt if anyone can. 8 goals in 36 Premiership appearance last season is grim by his old standards. £17m for a grumpy 30 year old (next birthday) is not cheap. Torres was the past and that is how it should stay. Nando thanks for the goals and the £30m profit but don't come back !!

He made it pretty clear what he thinks of us.

No.

His next move will be to Italy or Spain where he belongs, far away from these shores.

Yeah only with a big apology though. His best times were here, I think our style suits him.

He's past it, only half the player without the electric turn of pace he used to have.

He's also got a poor attitude when things aren't going his way.

Not worth it.  I wouldn't even take him back on a free.
