I'm with Sabre on this.  Really don't think he's a good
enough goal getter to warrant spending the big bucks
he would cost us.

He has abilities of both Cisse and Luis Garcia all together.

He's fast and unnaccurate like Cisse, he's a ball waster like Luis Garcia.

Nicknamed "El niño" (The Kid), he appeared at a very early age in difficult times for Atletico Madrid. He's fast, and he dribbles and he scored a bunch of goals that year. Atletico Madrid is a big club, and soon enough they thought they had a jewell and that they should avoid at all costs Real Madrid or any other would sign up Torres.

All Atletico de Madrid started to work for Torres, and he made decent numbers... but numbers must be seen with a closer look, since he kicks every single penalty Atletico Madrid throws. Without those goals, his numbers wouldn't be outstanding whatsoever.

Strong points: fast and dribbler.

Weak points: bad teamwork, bad passer, and bad finnisher, which makes his dribbling ability useless.

You are going to read nothing of this if you search in google, there's lots of hype about this player, he appears in PC games, and all that. But my personal view is that he wouldn't make it here. He's the kind of player that in *Spain* struggles for a ball, he falls, and keeps sit down moaning to the ref. In England things could only get worse in that sense.

Definitely expensive, overrated player. Thumbs down.

I don't know what Erica will think about him, though. :)

I'm totally with Sabre on this. A pretty boy that is way overrated.

I have nothing whatsoever to say on this thread.

:D

In reality, though, I haven't seen him play enough to judge. The odd highlight from Spain isn't enough to go on, and so if Sabre says he's cack then I'll believe him.

Ive seen him scored some real spectacular goals for atletico madrid, which reminds me of the young alan shearer who can score from anywhereon the field. But somehow he doesnt seem to shine on international matches.
Atletico isnt performing this season and they just had their coach sacked, perhaps Torres might be interested to look for other options :D

When it comes to spanish players, I think of Sabre as being kind of like Mr Delmonte.
If he says yes....it's yes, and vice versa.
So if when questioned abot Torres, Sabre says No, the rest is history! :D

Haha brilliant mate.

But you are right, as always a very interesting review from Sabre.

I have seen the lad play a few times and he has looked quality, but if Sabre says he struggles with the physical aspect of the Spanish game then he would be bullied out of games in the Premiership.

I said he's no good for Liverpool, not that he's cack. Pretty much like Cisse really. He's an ordinary - good primera striker, who scores goals because all team works for him.

AS for what Houllier says, yes he has some nice goals, because with a powerful shot and good dribbling, he scores those from time to time.

I've seen this story before. Fernando Torres is a bubble that is growing and will explode in the WC. I already foresee my team losing a game against some team in quarter of finals, with a game of 10 wasted chances of Torres. He has the confidence of Aragones because Aragones is Atl Madrid supporter, I do hope Mori wins his place in the starting eleven, or we'll regret it.

Pablinho, my opinion and Erica's don't count as an opinion of a Spaniard, or you didn't read our posts? :D

BTW, Villa yes, Villa might do it, but then he's too expensive. He's a player that goes straight looking for the net always, finisher, a tyical "9" I think he's going to be important next years. Too expensive , though  :sleepy:
