Here is another Spaniard, and my opinion is similar to those of Sabre and Erica, the most overrated player in Spain, he´s not a striker, he can´t score sitters, he´s always moaning to the refs (although he is always being kicked by defenders, he´s too weak, not just for England, I think for physic football in general) and he contributes very little to  teamwork. Being a Real Madrid supporter, I´d have loved him being bought by Barça two summers ago (enough to say).
As for Villa, again on line with Sabre, he would be a hell of a player in England, let´s say he´s another Morientes, maybe less technical ability but more pace...but definitely much younger than him, anyway, he´s just been got by his current club and they are not selling him I´m afraid.

Yes Villa is an striker a la Morientes, perhaps better finnisher and better determination, but perhaps aswell, not so useful in teamwork. There are many goals this season in which Morientes helped in the shadow. Take one of those compilations that Leon or somebody put here to download, and see how in two or three goals of Gerrard from outside the box, Morientes move cleverly, dragging a defence or two with him.

When we talk about strikers, it comes to my mind the "do we need free kick specialist" thread. While he haven't got the very best, we have defo good strikers, and improving what we have means LOTS of money OR lot of good scouting of a young player and eye.

Valencia - Osasuna is a must see.

Oh, don't even try those who want games with many chances, bycicles and all that. Good old lovers of tactical and good football, welcome.

I saw a doco on torres a while ago and he made it very clear to everyone he wants to stay at Atletico Madrid.. aparently an offer came in for him for 25 million (not sure if it was chelsea or some premier club) and he was begging management to keep him at Atletico.

I think he feels home there and is at this stage in no clear mind to move - although that could change as he gets older.

Do we really need to waste good money on another striker?

In my opinion we would be much wiser to bolster the midfield area of the team and not buy a striker that we dont really need..

This is just fantasy talk anyway as i dont believe this rumour for one instant
