When I said deciding factor I was referring to Manu last season and Man U this season.
Saying Ronaldo (I'm not saying you, but generally) is too easy.

ur an absolute idiot, and a typical no nothing football fan, who thinks footballs all about pace and getting stuck in. Pace is not everything for a striker there is a lot more to it than that. And as for Fowler having lost all his pace, he may have slowed down over the years but he is no slower than Kuyt, Crouch,Carragher, Hyypia, Alonso and Mascherano, so what is ur point exactly? I didnt see Fowler struggling yesterday even though it was his first start in 9 games, he looked lively and fairly sharped and was much better than Craig Bellamy who i suppose you thought was great because he ran fast down the channels
I really can't be bothered to talk to 2 idiots at once. If you think Fowler is a top quiality premiership striker who should be at our club and play in every game then you're plain wrong. I was at the Everton match with a load of mates in the away end...it was painful to watch. Just as it was painful to watch Robbie fall on his a*se a dozen times against PSV. Believe what you want, he's a legend but he's NOT a premiership striker.
People said the same about Rush when he went off the boil.."give him 1 more season" but he was past it and it showed when he went to Leeds and Newcastle. I find it staggering that people want to compile on the previous mistakes our club made in the 90’s…keeping aging players who can’t cut it anymore.

Don't take it personally, he can't stand the fact I called it right about Robbie last season and he called it wrong. Thats all.
dont worry i wont, jus find his views on things very strange indeed. Just pisses me of when people say "this players, coz's he got no pace" typical stupid statement i hear so often.

Stu.Murph wrote:Effes wrote:Stu.Murph wrote:I've had this arguement many times with re. tactics.
Not for a second do I believe thats hindered us massively this season. I think its personel. I said this under Houllier, as long as you play to your strengths and are good enough it doesn't matter weather you're a defensive or attacking unit.
You need the required quality, luck with injuries a good enough system (be it defensively or attacking) and then you're in business.
Agree Stu, when you compare Man U this season with Chelsea the 2 previous seasons, then you get a good comparison between attcking/defensive systems.
Chelsea played a defensive way, offset by the fact that playing 4-3-3 with quality like Robben , Duff, Drogba meant they had the quality to get the goals.
What's been the difference between Manu last season and this season? ( I know Ronaldo has been ten times better than last season, but..)
Maybe the manager has been the deciding factor.
That's where I think Rafa may not be someone to radically change a team around in order to get the Prem title.
Time will tell; but it seems everyone is pinning their hopes on a big cash spend in the Summer.
All I'm saying is, even with that, I'm not convinced Rafa can still deliver.
I dont think he can instill that mentality required to win the Prem - too much science/tactics.
The deciding factor is Effes they missed Terry, Carvalho, Cudicini and Cech all at same period for a period of about 6 games in which they conceeded goals and lost points mate.
3 of which were at Anfield. Had Carvalho and Terry played I doubt we'd have been able to break them down.
Had they kept Gallas and Huth instead of having to play Essien and Ferreira at the back then they'd have been a hell of a lot more difficult to break down.
People seem to forget that when they talk about us beating Chelsea this season. The fact is, when they have there strongest back four out, we struggle badly to break them down.
And lets be honest, we struggle against anyone to break them down, so we're bound to struggle against one of the leagues best.
