Spanish outfit Sevilla are hoping to land the out-of-favour defender in January, yet Reds’ chief scout Paco Herrera believes Rafael Benitez is, at the moment, unwilling to sell the player.

"I do not believe that Rafa Benitez gives him permission to go away," said Herrera. "He wants two players in each position and at right back he only has him and [Steve] Finnan."

ive seen josemi play and to be honest when going forward he definately adds soemthing different. the thing is that when hes defending hes not the best. Finnan is still our first choice right back but id be happy for josemi to stay if hes happy to be sat on the bench at times

he should go ,we have barragan who's playing great in the reserves this season,lets cash in on josemi and put it towards the january funds

If we can get over 1.5 million then sell, he is a liability imo and that would bring in a bit of money towards a position we are more in need of.
I may leave us a little short in that area but hopefully Raven or Barragan could step forward and challenge for a first team spot.

If i ever see a line up with Josemi in it i am more than a bit worried.

The only positive thing since his arrival is that Finnan has kicked on after a not si good first season.
I cant see Finnan going backwards now so if we can get rid of weaker players like Josemi and get the younger lads closer to breaking into the side get rid.

That line sums it up perfectly Ace. I feel the same way when Traore is included. Both are on borrowed time at Liverpool. Benitez isn't stupid, he'll get rid of them both but probably not til the end of the season.
