I read somewhere the other day that his misus and his little one haven't settled in England at all so he wants to get back to Spain ASAP.  It's not that easy though, if Benitez can't get replacement cover, he'll stay for the time being.

I don't think Josemi is cr.ap But I think that if Liverpool has to bring a Spaniard, he must be class, or at least international.

While I think Josemi will do more than ok in many teams, I think Liverpool is a top class team and there's no place for him here.

Reports suggest that Sevilla have now lodged an offer of €1.2 million (£800,000) with the intention of signing Josemi in January. (sky sports)

However, the La Liga side are unwilling to pay the 3.3m euros (around £2.25m) that Liverpool are reportedly holding out for, while Reds boss Rafael Benitez is reluctant to sell without a ready-made replacement lined up.

The 26-year-old has made just three league starts this season, and a total of seven in all competitions.

Although understandably frustrated by his predicament, Benitez has informed the player he wants to retain his services and will only consider letting him go if a club matches the fee Liverpool paid for him.

That is the stumbling block for any potential move to Sevilla who have been monitoring the player since last summer.

Sevilla boss Juande Ramos is a big fan of the stopper having managed him when the pair coincided at Malaga earlier in their respective careers.

I agree with dawson it's no harm to keep him if he's happy being at the bench

Is that from a reliable source AB or is it just a rumour at the moment?

I'd only get rid of Josemi like many say if we have decent cover for his position. It is playing Russian Roulette to let him go without bringing in a decent backup for finnan as an injury to finnan would be catastrophic IMO 'cos there is no way I'd want to see carra move out to the right and then traore come into the centre. However if Rafa does get a decent CB in then it maybe worth the gamble 'cos there'd be no need for traore then.

I will be glad to see the back of him and traore but Rafa won't let us be short for cover which is why he did'nt let traore go to the blueshite . niether of them are good enough for the first team i alway wanted traore to make the step up as he is quick and a good tackler (sometimes) but he hasn,t got the talent and josemi would be good in alot of teams just not ours

I've just heard that Liverpool have confirmed they offered a swap deal for Villareal's Dutch right back and we give them Josemi , can't remember the Dutch lad's name though. Sorry, just noticed A.B. post...the information I heard about this was on Sky Sports News by the way.

I feel sorry for Josemi a bit, something just clicked in him and he starting going down hill, he's actually looked pretty good the last couple of games he's played in.

Yeah it has been confirmed in the Spanish press:

19:47 Villarreal. Acuerda con el Liverpool el traspaso de Kromkamp por Josemi (www.marca.es)

Which means that Villareal has agreed with Liverpool a swap deal (Kromkamp for Josemi).
Don't ask me who that kromkamp guy is, because I do not have the slightest idea.
