BARCELONA 1-2 LIVERPOOL - ALL REACTION HERE......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

well, here we are- hasn't time flown!

I have a barca top with ronaldinho on the back- it hasnt seen light since the draw (supersticion) but ill wear it if and when we topple them

Im thinking Rafa will have the measure of the Spaniards.  We need heroes out there, and the rubbish that has gone on the last few days has tarnished that somewhat.

It's gonna be 0-0 and back at Anfield for a game that is brilliant on DVD after but hell to live ;)

We're terrible from set-pieces. If anything we'll struggle with set-pieces, especially from free-kicks as they have one of the best free-kick takers in the world.

Our free-kicks and corners are terrible, Barca will be able to deal with it.

Did you see Edmilson tonight?...im not talking about the last time we scored from a set piece...what i am saying is i feel their defence is aerialy weak and we will have a major advantage from high balls into their box.

We all know Barcas strengths in attack and in free kicks,im not trying to highlight their strengths simply somewhere i feel we have an advantage ok Ar.se Bandit!  :D

I understand your point, but it will be futile in the end if we don't take advantage of their weakness in the air.

We could create chances all night long with set-pieces and whatnot but if we fail to score from them then whats the point?

All I'm saying is that it won't be much of an advantage if we don't score using it, Barry.

Oh i so cant wait for this one, 2 greats going head to head, should be one fantastic match. Great result for barca against valencia (for us). Im hoping we will turn up as we usually do in europe and give them one hell of a game, lets see that all conquering liverpool we've seen glimpses of. Would very much improve our season to get past these, biggest match of the season, i hope we're ready.

1st half I thought Barca played well.  Had plenty possession and there little one-two's were awesome.  Out of Saviola and Gudjohnson I wpuld prefer Gudjohnson to play as his too slow to play in that role.

Messi needs to be stopped.  His got such quick feet and just ghost's past players.  He takes Barca to another level.

I agree, we have to play Crouch and use his height advantage. And after this weeks events involving Bellamy I wonder whether it'll be him who makes way for Crouch

If crouch does play I hope Hyppia and JC dont start hitting back to front balls.  That happens far too often.

Agreed on that, both of them have been far to guilty of knocking it long, especially this season. And Barca are hardly the team you would to find in possesion from relatively cheap balls, so to speak.

Xabi Alonso was interviewed by Sport.es a couple of days ago. He was asked about Gerrard, and he said that we're talking much about Gerrard as he is class, but that they will see that Crouch is an "incordio" aswell. Incordio is translated as Nuisance in my dic, but it's more than nuisance, it's close to pester and bother .:D (He meant Crouchy is a constant source of trouble for the oposition defence and I agree)

I liked Xabi higlighting less known or praised members of the squad. And perhaps if he said that it might mean he things Crouch is going to play. I'd play Crouch and Kuyt .
