Actually it astonishes me a little bit the Barcelona-Valencia game is on sunday at 19.00 Pm.

Usually Spanish teams that have european competition on wednesday, forward their games to saturday just like Real Madrid did. But it seems to me that the TV rights forced to put the Barcelona-Valencia game as the highlighted game on Sunday.

A day less to recover, which is nice.

If the online newspapers are to be believed, Eto'o has such a big ego that he actually resents being overlooked in succesive seasons as the most valueable player in Barcelona as Ronaldinho keeps getting all the glory. He also hardly said anything to the press after being photographed hugging with Ronaldinho to show the peace they have made.

Apparently, he said that he "would love to play for Arsenal" (perhaps Sabre can verify this).

Whatever is said or printed by the media, Barca are too good to be driven apart by "alleged" dressing room disharmony as they have so many good players, even the reserves or players who do not normally start games. Iniesta is one example.

I can read in the newspaper about that Eto´o do not play this Sunday in the match vs. Valencia FC, and I read ours comentaries now, too. What about the next weednesday? Is it possible, that Eto´o will play vs. Liverpool?

I think Eto'o will be on the bench on wednesday marie and he will come on as a sub if needed , which he will be. :)

was reading through this weeks lfc magazine and they were reflecting on our two previous visits to the nou camp in 2001 and 2002.

amazing to think that when we drew 0-0 there in the uefa cup semi in 2001, reina was in goal for barca. he must have been about 18-19 at the time and had a full head of hair. :D

If i'm honest i'd like him to be fit so noone can say we "only beat Barca coz Etoo wasn't playing" and because it would be a great challenge.

Then again even if Etoo doesn't play it's not like they havent got replacements for him.

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has highlighted Liverpool’s aerial threat as the main problem that Barcelona will need to overcome if they want to get past Rafa Benitez’s side.

Cruyff, who guided the Spanish giants to their first European Cup success in 1992, thinks that Barca will have their work cut out when it comes to the high balls.

Speaking before Wednesday night’s first leg game in Barcelona, Cruyff said: "Barcelona against Liverpool is the absolute top match in the Champions League and, normally speaking, it shouldn't be a problem for Barca.”

"But the last time I saw Liverpool playing, I have to say that with Kuyt and  Crouch up front, they played

some excellent stuff. The two of them form an enormously good partnership.''

"Crouch is better technically than folk think and Kuyt is good in positional play.”

But even though the Dutch master isn’t quite writing off the reds, be still believes that Barcelona will be the team to come out on top over both legs.

"The Barcelona trademark is a high-speed game which could break down the Liverpool lines," he said, before adding, "Then the middle line, with dangerous men like Steven Gerrard, cannot link up with Kuyt or Crouch.”

"By doing that you take the sting out of the English."

No it didn't, but if Barca's alledged troubles are relevant to the CL games, then so is this.

Dundalk mate, the article you put is correctly translated except for this bit

"The Barcelona trademark is a high-speed game which could break down the Liverpool lines," he said, before adding, "Then the middle line, with dangerous men like Steven Gerrard, cannot link up with Kuyt or Crouch

[

Then then part is correct, the if part is missing. Cruyff said that IF Barcelona manages to have the ball and dominates, THEN we couldn't link up with Kuyt.

And that's a big IF, because Barcelona will have a very serious team defending on front of them.
