Spurs in for kewell

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Feck me I'm still laughing at Adam but I think all things considered, anything over three mill' if they pay ALL his wages is a good deal. He's a good player when he's on his game but it ain't often enough for me, get rid.

Then we need another player on the left if he goes.

Martin Jol surely must have the most bloated midfield squad in the EPL. It's a wonder that the Spurs board continue to allow him to keep indulging in the transfer market despite having already so many players.

If they offered 5 million for Kewell, I'd bite their hands off without even contemplating for more than 2 seconds!

Kewell was linked with Spurs last season when we were linked with Defoe and many thought it would be a swap deal for the pair. I've heard nothing about this new approach for Kewell. If they do bid I hope we don't sell with Gonzo just settling in we need a left winger who is used to the league and plays well and that's Kewell.

You talk total tosh.

Many thought it would be a swap deal ? Like who exactly ? Just you I think.

You've heard nothing of this new approach ? That means its a no go then as we all know you are the first ot be consulted on any transfers in the Premiership.

We need a left midfiuelder who plays well ? And thats KEwell ? Why is he up for sale then soft olleys ?

Riise can also play there as can Fabio and Bolo if required.

Please engage your brain before you post you idiot.

Many people on here thought it was going to be a swap deal, there were quite a few people on here who thought it and suggested in both on this forum and elsewhere.
I said I didn't hear anything of it, I never said it was a no go area, if Gonazales settles in then and Spurs offer a good price for Kewell, then by all means we should accept the offer.

Bolo isn't great on the left, Aurelio needs time and so does Gonzales and Harry showed in the latter part of last season what he can do? You're a season ticket holder, did you not notice his performances or were you too busy stuffing your face with hotdogs to notice?

Kewell's up for sale is he? I didn't know that, you won't mind posting me a link to prove this then?

I'd rather make posts that actually contibute to the discussion instead of saying "that topic is for the rumour mill" then posting a non topic item in the GD area.

I was a harry kewell basher for ages until last season he won alot of people over with his consistancy ,rafa included imo

lets get him fit and gonzalles will have a chance to adapt the same as fabio and if a big offer comes in the closed season then yes sell sell sell, but until then we will need players of his class in the squad

The only time that Kewell started playing well last year is when Australia qualified for the World Cup. I remember posting at the time that he did not care about LFC but rather his form for Australia. I also remember saying at the time that it will be business as usual for Kewell when he returns with injuries and lack of commitment. Surprise, surprise!

Any chance to sell him and we should. Who needs a good player with no heart? Spurs deserve him!

May i know how did you come to the conclusion that Kewell is a player with no heart?

without sounding too hard on kewell. i reckon the time is almost here when its either put up or ship out... i fear once fit, he will get little opportunity to do anything other than the latter. and kazza you have more than a point where Australia/Big cup finals are concerned with harry. he always seems to be up for those games  :glare:

like i said, now isnt the time or the place for a spot of 'kewell-bashing' considering the awful run he's had. but pretty soon its going to be s.hit or bust for me. id sooner cash in.
and no, that isnt a knee-jerk reaction to having a wealth of talent down the left. its down to a question of 'fight'. Kewell may be a spirited-feisty type while wearing the green and gold of his nation...but how often have we been holding our breath?.   other than a decent return last season (and i mean signs of promise here and there)  little can be really added to his footballing epitaph once out of this club.

i might be shooting wide of the mark. but if the future at LFC includes Harry Kewell. last chance saloons the length and breadth of the country wont have such an odds on cert supping in 'em.

This funny thing we call memory.

Clearly you have not been around for a few years.

Maybe im not as old as you, but ive been watching the team for 20 years does that count?
I do not understand how your 'funny' memory can prove that kewell isn't putting in his heart in the games, but i do understand a lot of people are frustrated with him sitting out games on high wage with long term injuries.
That aside, i would like to remind you of his performances during the latter stages of last season, he was even mentioned couple of times in this forum as 1 of the most consistent player during that period. To say that hes performing just to be prepared for the world cup is kinda rubbish to me though. Personally i am not exactly a huge Kewell fan, but im sure that an injury-free Kewell can still make a significant contribution to the team.

I gave Harry my last chance saloon last season.I also tend to agree on the world cup mention although have Australia got such a depth of squad they could have left him out.........NO.
Even in the odd game he did something last season, and it was odd...it still wasnt enough for me.My patience ran out with him along time ago and after our 5th cl/european cup win when he sprinted the length of the pitch when we won, that closed any doors i had open for him.
We will never see the Kewell at Leeds, never have, never will.......RAFA if offered anything between 4-6 million drive him yourself.I know my opinion is not everybodys but who gives a t0ss......one drop of snow is not a winter.
