Media here in Oz is reporting that Martin Jol has made an approach for Kewell after their attempt to get Dowling from Middlesborough fell over.

Harry on the move??

Welcome back, LH.  :)

Kewell was linked with Spurs last season when we were linked with Defoe and many thought it would be a swap deal for the pair. I've heard nothing about this new approach for Kewell. If they do bid I hope we don't sell with Gonzo just settling in we need a left winger who is used to the league and plays well and that's Kewell.

Welcome back mate
Rumour has it that Kewell failed a medical there on monday evening?
Not sure if we should let him go TBH, he's never in the team long enough for us to get the most out of him, a huge earner at the club, but septic arthritus I can imagine that will be a reaccurance? Not sure about this ailment.
His mrs wants to go back down south so maybe she is in favour of this move.
But he will make Spurs stronger if he has a good run in the side?
But I think Rafa loves him and he wont be going anywhere?

You talk total tosh.

Many thought it would be a swap deal ? Like who exactly ? Just you I think.

You've heard nothing of this new approach ? That means its a no go then as we all know you are the first ot be consulted on any transfers in the Premiership.

We need a left midfiuelder who plays well ? And thats KEwell ? Why is he up for sale then soft olleys ?

Riise can also play there as can Fabio and Bolo if required.

Please engage your brain before you post you idiot.

Im more worried about this septic artritus or however you spell it, will this keep effecting him or what?
If so I think we should sell, as he is one of the few saleable players we can get our money back on.
We will never ever see the Leeds Harry Kewell ever again.

Septic Arthritis is something he should make a full recovery from but I don't think that is the thing holding him up....

I wouldn't agree with this notion of selling HK if we didn't have the quality left sided players that we do. But it may be time for LFC to get a bit of money back for him while they can.

HK can be a brilliant player but he's not going to get the opportunity to demonstrate this with the standard of player we currently have and he isn't going to be too happy being a bench player.

The time is right...sell!!

It seems unlikely that Tottenham would be willing to pay as much as 5 million for a player who is still some way from fitness. It's a real shame Harry has suffered so many injuries because last season he was such a key player for the club. I haven't written him off just yet and am still of the opinion that we will need a big season from him (new year onwards) if the title dream is to become a reality this year. a fit Harry Kewell is still the best option on the left by far.

Gonzalez has shown some promise out on the left but i don't think he will reach the level Kewell achieved for much of last season. Garcia and Aurelio can both do a job there but it's my opinion that Riise is probably the best man for the job (in the bog games) untill Kewell is fit or Gonzalez proved he is ready to do it week in, week out.

Harry Kewell's agent has played down reports the Australian could be in line for a move to Tottenham.

The former Leeds United winger has been linked with a move to the White Hart Lane outfit, who are keen to bolster their numbers.

Spurs have already bid for Middlesbrough's England international Stewart Downing, however, their offer falls well short of the North East outfit's valuation.

Another name is the frame is Lyon's Hatem Ben Arfa, who is being tipped for the top by the French champions.

However, it seems a move for Kewell is a non-starter with Kewell's agent Bernie Mandic saying it is pure speculation.

"There has never been a single word from anyone at Liverpool about Harry leaving," Mandic told The Independent.

Uncle Albertino, says that Kewell is going to Spurs for 4.2m then this will pave the way for Alves to join in a 10m deal from Seville. Its all going on right now.

5m might not be a bad return at the moment, if he passes a medical that is.

i dont think we should sell..
i admit he will never be at the standard he was at at leeds, but i thought he had a good season last year and is still a decent player
iv we want to win the leauge we need to have players like harry in the sqaud. mite be second choice left winger but is still worlld class and is good backup for gonzo
