What Graeme and Pablo are suggesting is that he is only worth about 3-5.

So how much do you think he should be worth?

He'd be worth about £6M

FACT: If he was still at southapmton, he wouldn't have gone to the world cup.

I'm not disputing his contribution to the team - my point is that we have better strikers who could have scored 3/4 goals in a game when peter crouch has scored/set up 1

...and MOTD actually makes crouch look good - they miss out him constantly falling over at every challenge

DAVO-LFC

of course goals matter when did i say they didnt, but crouchs contribution last season was worth more than cisses 20 odd goals. end of

...and i'm supposedly the one who knows nothing about football? i guess we would've all been happier with uefa cup football this season (discounting cisse's pointless '20-odd' goals) and cisse's penatly in the champion's league final the year before was worthless too?! i see  :idea  it's all coming together now.

PS. im sorry im coming across as a wind up, but honestly - im not. With the attitude the majority of posters on here have, it seems they'd be happy with liverpool never progressing; as long as you give 'yer support t' lads eh' ? - i dont agree with that attitude, sorry - but i'm NOT here taking the p1ss.

I don't care whether people don't like the look of Crouch or just plainly don't like him but they cannot deny his value to the squad.

I agree totally.

I also was initially disappointed when we spent a large amount of cash on Crouch based on what I had seen of him previously. However he has proved his value to the team on many occasions. Throughout 2006 he has looked like our striker most likely to score. Not for the first time Rafa's decision making has been spot on in terms of his signings.

I cannot believe some of the posters on here are slagging Crouch off so strongly - surely anyone can see the contribution he is making.

Of course people are entitled to different opinions when there is a questionable issue, but Crouch's effectiveness is unquestionable.

pabloaimar, even you can't be as naive or stupid as to think that without Cisse's magnificent "nine league goals", that we'd have finished in the UEFA Cup spots last season?

the guy was never a footballer. i expect footballers who play for my club to be able to trap a bag of cement.

crouch got his fair share of goals and plenty of assists for the likes of stevie to score some of his 23 goals so yer as a whole his contribution for the entire season was worth more than cisses, if it wernt cisse would still be here and crouch wouldnt.

and when cisse scored that pen crouch wernt at the club so whats that got to do with it

Pablo...im with you on this one !
You guys are starting to sound ridiculous ! Cisse wasnt as good as we expected him to be, but he managed to score some goals that helped us get to where we are today ! he got alot of criticism for his displays and the reactions to his preworldcup injury were shocking and unnecessary !
Crouch's start last season was probably what cost us the title ! missing all the chances he had and all !
He has however upped his game dramatically ! He's a better player and is an inform striker at the moment !
Heres how i see things....Crouch is not a great strkier...at best, he's a good player .... had he been a southampton player, he would never have been called to the world cup ! STILL, given the displays he has been putting out of late, scoring some important goals and all, i think that now is not quite the best time to be critisizing the guy...i even think that he should start for us so long as he's playing as good as he is atm !

What i think those 2 are trying to put out is, Kuyt and Bellamy are better players than Crouch, which i agree with, and should start because chances are, given the chance Crouch got, they would score far more goals !

I like Crouch as a player.... dont know him as a guy, but way i see it, he seems like a nice guy ! hope he keeps playing the way he is... aaaand.... go easy on those two.... they just see things in a different way... no need to get all verbal and defensive and all !

Quite simply, anyone who rates Cisse over Peter Crouch at LFC has no knowledge or understanding of football.

Argue as much as you like, but it's the truth.

I myself like Peter Crouch as we all know he brings a different option to the game, ill admit there is times when i lose my rag with the man, but he can only get better. Im not so sure who Rafa will have up front with the arrival of our new front men, but i will say even if Big Peter is on the bench i will be confident enough knowing if he comes on as sub he will do the job and keep his critics at bay. :nod

Why don't we call you Graeme Shit from now on,sound fair?  :D

By the way, Crouch was involved in creating 15-19 goals that we scored (some direct assists, some not) and he scored 13 goals himself.

So how much do you think he should be worth?

I don't think he is that much worth, maybe he's good for the competition but not for the european matches, especially not against the big clubs.
