Why oh why do people here seem to always get off on wild speculation? I'd be very sorry to see Kewell go for anyone else. We're supposed to be strengthening remember and Harry is quality. As for the striking department, Kuyt's the man--but it seems far from a done deal. Come on Rafa, lay out 10 million quid. If Newcastle can do it, so can we!

i agree with alessandro about being sad to see Kewell leave because he looks like he just regaining that form people remember him at leeds with i hope he here next season. but back to main point of kuyt his name seems to be floating club to club in the prem each season and nothing happens. kuyt seems to more hype than anything also look at the flops of 10mil + from euro we be better of getting defoe in he proven in the prem also be a bit cheaper spesh where spurs buying carlton cole to replace him ???

I've seen Kuyt once, therefore I'm not in a position to comment but he looked like a solid striker, not one that's shoved off the ball lightly, he seemed fairly quick, his shots seemed powerful, yet had great accuracy and most important of all he seems to place them. From what I was he looked like a good player, but again I'm not the best judge of characther!Morientes anyone? :(

As for Defoe, I don't like the idea that Spurs don't want him--are we into taking other team's cast offs?

Seen Kuyt a few times in the dutch league.. Looked brilliant in some matches but absolutely :censored: in others. Does not seem
a natural finisher but one that works hard for his goals. One thing is for sure though, the Eredivisie is a poor league.Think he would adapt well in the prem though.
Would love to see Joaquin at Anfield but just get the feeling Madrid know a number of there players are coming to the end of there careers and that they need an injection of youth. Would not be surprised to see Beckham move into Zidane's (retired) postion and Joaquin moving to Madrid to fill the right hand side.

He's one excellent cast off. Spurs don't want him because he doesn't seem to fit into Jol's plan and Jol's system. Just because he's not wanted by Spurs doesn't make him a poor player and it doesn't make him a cast off.

Kuyt has been very clear about his future. What ever was in the press, way before last season started he said he was going to stay in Rotterdam. Now he has outgrown Feyenoord. He will leave, simply because he has to.

Anyway I hope he will choose Liverpool and vice versa. He's the storm trooper of football and Liverpool is Englands finest club!

Cheers!! (Why is there no smily with a beer in his hand?)

Well said lad !!  Van'nist at Manutd does this make him a shiteeeeeeee player as he is not wanted at Manutd now (NO I DON'T THINK SO)  If we had a chance of getting him for 10m over likes of Defoe, Kuite, Torres, etc i would jump at the chance he is one goal machine who is proven in this league..

Along with Robben, van der vaart and Sneijder to name a few Holland have some superb talent coming through. I would take Kuyt in a heartbeat, he can play right side midfield or upfront which are exactly the positions which we need to strengthen

71 goals in 101 games is a great record.

But I remember Kezman having a even more enviable record but he couldn't cut it in the Premier League.

Kuyt = Dutch
Kezman = Serbian

Dutch players usually settle in the Premiership for whatever reason. Kezman failed to do what many other players failed to do from the former ex-Yugoslavia, adapt. Suker was ten times the better player then Kezman and he couldn't settle in at Arsenal or the Hammers.

Serbian,Bosnian and Croatian players have never been fond of the English league because they don't have the ability to adapt to such a league. That's why most of them play in Germany,Italy and Spain. [currently they all play mostly in Germany]

Well, a ManU cast off is different to a Spurs cast off. When was the last time Spurs actually won anything?

WOW!!!!

I talk a lot of ©rap but you've just stolen my crown. I've never read anything that bad nor have I wrote anything that bad.

Jermain Defoe isn't a bad player because Spurs haven't won anything and in that case Alonso is a bad player, Fowler's return is a bad thing. And Morientes didn't flop.

Seriously if you don't get more stick for that then I did for my comments regarding Morientes, I will put my head in a bucket of :censored:.
