Right, I've grown up for 25 years supporting the glorious Liverpool, and wanted to know who your favourite player was.

i must admit, although ive been a fan for 25 yrs (I'm 31) ive got to say Gerrard is my favourite player.

Fowler for when he snorted the touch line years back.

(To be honest, I can't answer this without regretting the answer and wanting to change it to somebody else )

steve heighway 70's
ian rush 80's
robbie fowler 90's
steve gerrard 00's

john barnes, steven gerrard and robbie fowler are the best three players i've seen during my time. you had to see them live to appreciate just had good they were. john barnes 1987-90 was arguably the best winger in europe. fowler 1995-97 produced 3 of the most unbelievable seasons i've seen from a striker (i think he scored nearly 100 goals). gerrard is currently playing the best football of his career imo.

the older generation will probably go for dalglish or souness.

I grew up watching liverpool as a consequence of souness, dalgleish, and nicol.

I suppose my player of that time had to be king kenny, though i kinda loved alan hansen too.

Oh yeah, sammy lee rocked too.

My favourite player from my time is without any doubt Robbie Fowler.

I'm 40 my first memories and favs were Highway and Keegan. St, Michael did it for me but now Gerard is awesome.

Only being 14, its got to be stevie g, but if i was around back when all you oldies were (

) I'd probably go for kenny as I'v seen ye olde video's from back then of us playing and kenny undoubtedly stood out as probably the best player to ever grace the anfield turf.

From personal experiance with who i have seen in my lifetime it has to be gerrard, ok he isnt the greatest yet, but i think he will be.

Favourite is Fowler though, which other player has ever been nicknamed GOD by fans and team mates?

I agree with you Andy - Gerrard. Absolute genius. I also used to love watching Barnes in his prime. Like you I'm a bit too young to really remember Dalglish, Rush, Souness, Hansen at their best.

Too many to mention probably dalglish followed by either roger hunt or ray kennedy then by terry mc or stevie hieghway or stevie gerrard ,souness was pretty sh!t hot aswell oh and not to forget rush and fowler,or possably hansen(majestic defender) ian st john wasn't bad, tommy smith a ledge,oh keegan must be up there. Ian callaghan a damn fine player and so on and so on..
