THE MICHAEL OWEN THREAD - all owen talk here from now on please

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

let owen go to barcodes... a few weeks ago we were all preparing for this season without him anyway? or even the slightest hint about him. ok weve sold baros. but still there is no need to feel ANY differently than we did then. the wheels will keep turning at lfc with or without owen and yes, it would be hard to see the lad do well someplace else in the prem. but as we should KNOW. we aint become a bad side overnight, and we arent going to do. have a bit more faith in rafa benitez. the guy will be vindicated in all this, believe me.

I'm sick hearing how he's 'desperate' to return and all these fans sympathising and keeping up the 'bring mikey home' campaign.  Fu.ck him, he had his chance to stay and experience life under Rafa and he blew it.  And another thing, if this wasn't a world cup year do you think he'd be so 'desperate' to return to us??  No way, he'd be content to sit on the bench over there.  He's trying to use us now to make sure he starts at the world cup, just like he used us a year ago by letting his contract run so he'd get his 'big move abroad'.

I accept our current strikers are misfiring, but I'd sooner give them until January to prove themselves or even bring in someone like Kuyt before I'd take back Owen

I've had a change of heart.
Well said mate.
That puts everything into perspective.

I ahevno doubt thet our strikers will come good and fill in with goals but is "coming good" what we want? i want excellent i want teams shacking in thier kacks when playing us Rafa was put in as a topman which i believe he is but have we had enough time to get to know how the man's mind works? i don't think so , and i feel some of us might be a bit suprised when we find out the answer to this question.

I tell you what rafa if you don't take him back you're a fool. He wants to come back, stevie G wants him back, the fans want him back, the board want him back. You must be the only one who doesn't want him. Yes we have 5 strikers but they arn't good enough. I'll be surprised if with the current form they are all in then they will struggle to score 20 goals between them whereas owen gives you 20 anyway.

RAFA YOU FOOL BRING HIM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
