Why are we not signing him, 20 Goals a year, who out of the strikers that we have is going to do that ??. None of them. Not one of them looked like hitting the broad side of a barn against Sofia. Sell Cisse and Nando and buy Owen and Kuyt can't do any worse than not scoring can we ??

i hear, they are selling the last bits parts of shearer's hair on ebay to cover the cost, 2 hairs for 2p, shearer is said not to be happy as they are his last two hairs he was hoping that they would have raised at least a tenner

I don't think theres anyway that Owen will sign a contract with Newcastle. I mean he leaves liverpool to win more medals with madrid and a year later goes to Newcastle. Maybe he'll go on loan but he wouldn't want to be contracted to them.

the lad doesn't have much choice. He's backed into a corner and it seems the only way out of it is to sign for the black & whites. He will go to Newcastle. Face facts

I wonder if Rafa ever had any intention to bring him back at all? Knowing how much the fans wanted his return, maybe the boss decided it would best to keep quiet the whole time rather risk the fury of the fans should Mikey go elsewhere. I certainly don't blame the boss if he feels Owen has burnt his bridges or was not suited to his preferred style of play however. I would be if it came to light that Rafa had never had any interest in a deal to bring the lad back and then neglected to put us all (or at least the majority) out of our misery. This has raged on for the last ten days and has bugged the sh.it out of me.

Also, i think a lot of you (it's like reading the tabloids sometimes) are far too quick to write off our strike force. How anyone can come to such a verdict this early in the season is beyond me. I wanted Michael back at the club and was getting very excited about the possibility but i still would have been dissapointed to see Cisse leave. He looked lively last night - His link-up play and awareness was excellent and he worked hard to win the ball back (something he didn't do last season.) I also think his performance in the final league game against Villa was very promising. Morientes hasn't adapted as quickly as we'd hoped but let's see how he does when Crouch is in the time and he has a few more crosses coming in from this new right-winger Rafa has mentioned once or twice.

Isn't everyone forgetting that madrid still owe us 4 mil from the deal that took owen to madrid anyway. So if they want £14 or something like that i'm guessing we would negotiate about £10 mil and call of the 4 mil they owen us. No way is owen over rated. Sure of course he's not better than henry but he has prem experience and guarentees you 20 goals.

Yeah but don't they owe N'Castle a lot of money from the Woodgate deal?

This is exactly what i'm talking about. just negotiated a tricky qualifying campaign to get back in the champs league. 4 points from 2 games in the league and it's doom & gloom.

Don't you get it? We don't have the  money to sign the lad. It's that simple. Even if we did it would be a joke. Can you imagine selling your car to a mate and then buying it back a year later for more than double the price?
