If we don't sign Owen and miss out on Kuyt, say goodbye to the league title. Cant win the league if you can't score goals

sorry. but we are not going to win the title this year.......with OR without Owen.  I'd be happy with 2nd or 3rd and a couple of cups.

Owen will bring additional 10 points over 1 goal wins

Does anybody believe Owen when he says he is waiting for Liverpool to finalise the deal, and if its not done in time he might go to Newcastle just for a year [ or less if ben gets the sack].If i was a Newcastle fan i would not be impressed

Liverpool FC cant score goals. Oh look over there, it's Mikey Owen wanting to move to Liverpool FC. He can score goals for fun, problem solved then.

I just hope Rafa has something up his sleeve. At the moment we have Morientes, with whom I'm rapidly losing patience, Cisse who I rate but may suffer if Rafa doesn't show 100% confidence in him, Crouch who I never thought was quite up to LFC standards, Pongolle who looks promising but will take time, and Mellor who is just plain sh!te and will never make the grade

Not exactly a sharp front line with which to mount a serious title challenge I don't think  :no

Rafa, what are you doing senor? You going loco?  ???

Heres the Cisse article, even he is not convinced Rafa wants him.

LIVERPOOL, England, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse says he wants to stay at Anfield, despite being linked with a return to France with Olympique Marseille.

"There are rumours of me going to Marseille but I don't have contact with them. I have never spoken to them," Cisse told reporters.

"I don't have contact with other clubs either. Liverpool is my club. I have signed for four seasons and I want to be here until the end of my contract. I feel good here and I don't want to go.

"Marseille is the club I grew up with and every season is the same, people say Cisse is going to Marseille, but it is not true."

Cisse's future at Liverpool has been subject to speculation in the British media after reports linked the European champions with a move for their former striker Michael Owen.

England striker Owen said he would welcome a return to Anfield if he could not hold down a regular starting place at Real Madrid this season.

Liverpool's Premier League rivals Newcastle United said on Wednesday they had agreed a fee to sign Owen from Real. The Spanish side confirmed no offer had been made for the player from Liverpool.

France striker Cisse arrived from Auxerre for 14 million pounds in July 2004 but his first season was blighted by a broken leg that sidelined him for eight months.

"I won't be surprised if the manager says I have to go. It's his choice, maybe they don't need me," said Cisse.

"Maybe he thinks my game is not for him. It's his choice but we haven't spoken about it.

"I did have a meeting and asked him about the stuff in the newspaper and he said he did not have contact with other clubs.

"If I have to go, I go, but I would like to stay. I want to show to the people that I can do well for Liverpool."
