I hate Madrid, Macca, Owen Nunez, Morientes and now Owen again they always screw us. We don't need you Micheal, Sorry!

Rafa doesn't want him end of. Let him get the right players for his system and not for amount of shirts sold. Owen is too one dimensional anyhow.

We bought Cisse for 14m, if we could even get £10m for him now that'd be close to covering Owen and we'd still have money to stenghten elsewhere.

Owen, Crouch, Morientes fighting for two places or even one depending on Rafa's formation. Pongolle, Mellor etc if injury problems arise. Sounds good to me.

Is there anyone here who believes we have a better goal scorer than Owen?

Problem is if we bring back Michael Owen, how in hell could we accomodate Cisse, Morientes, Crouch, Sinama Pongolle, Mellor etc [even after we got rid of Baros]? Rafa would no doubt want Owen back but which of our current strikers could be cashed in for a a decent value in order to fund Owen's move and as well as make way for his arrival? Cisse would be worth half or less of what we got him for, same with Morientes, Crouch just a new acquisition, Sinama Pongolle still raw talent, and Mellor simply worthless.

Just saw that when owen had a talk with florentino perez (madrid director) he said he would prefer a move to liverpool and perez said "I WILL HELP YOU TRY AND ACHIEVE THIS" so that leaves me wondering if perez will give rafa an offer he can't refuse or even will try and convince him to buy owen.

I think we all assumed that something was going on behind the scenes between us and Madrid because of all the tabloid speculation in the past week. The fact we haven't even made a bid to take Michael on loan is pretty conclusive for me. It says Rafa does not want to resign the lad, even on loan where money is not a problem.

I'm really bored with it now. Will only be posting on this thread again if there is a miracle change in the 24 hours!

cover for the right side?  we don't have ANYONE to play on the rightside of midfield, and there is no way Hypia and Cara are going to play all season and not get injured.  Do you want us to spend all our money on Owen...only for hypia to get injured and play the likes of Josomi at CB??

Well Rafa signed Josemi. He obviously has faith in him. How many more will he sign before he gets the right player. At least with Owen we know what he can do.

Rafa - he's pleading he's begging he's admitting it was wrong to leave. Rafa please rescue Michael Owen. So he can rescue us by scoring goals.

Alright, start Friday's match with Cisse and Nando: if they fail to impress again, then PLEASE MAKE ROOM FOR OWEN!

I feel like i'm in a rage MO at newcastle f'ck about!!!! i am an optamist but on the showings in the Champs league and League i feel we will create chances but unless they actually hit the back of the net we are gona loose alot of games this season because we will be punished lesser teams and battered by top sides.

I am not on a doom and gloom i just want whats best for lfc without vendetas or pride issues :(

I thought we wanted to win, put Carra up front - at least he has scored.
