right with us fast approaching the summer, lets just say with a bit of optimism that we DO qualify for the champions league! who do u think we should get rid of and replace with: REALISTICALLY though! : cool:

Great list. the problem is, if we can afford them. If cisse come for 14 million, that is it. That is the end of our transfer fund.........

I agree with your outs but the ins are a bit speculative.
VAN DER VAART wont come. I think he's Man Yoo bound to link up with Ruud. Ruud's already told the club he wants him, and Joe Cole will come with a price tag to high for us ( and he's english, GH wont want him).

I would get rid of the same players as Ice Man. I would bring in Forsell, Malbranque, Svensson (Michael), Dawson (good choice Ice Man) and Joe Cole.

I DONT SEE ANY DECENT ESTABLISHED DEFENDERS THAT WOULD COME TO US REALLY, BOUMSONG WASNT BOTHERED MEXES IS OUT OF OUR LEAGUE AND THE LIKES OF STAM N CANNAVARO ARE GETTIN ON A BIT N WOULDNT BOTHER!
IF I COULD PICK ONE DEFENDER TO SIGN FOR LIVERPOOL IT WOULD HAVE TO BE JOHN TERRY WITHOUT A DOUBT HE'S CLASS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED! EVEN WITH OUR BEST BACK FIVE OUT WE SEEM LIKELY TO LEAK A GOAL OR TWO!

I still think Svensson from Southampton would be good for us at Centre half. He is an international, is quick, good in the air and scores plenty of goals for a centre half.

have to agree with u there coley, svensson is fairly useful, as much as henchoz tries hes prone to at least one big mistake per game and has no pace at all, but is svensson getting on a bit how old is he? once we dont have to put in traore! :cool:

I would definitely say Malbranque.

I haven't seen that much of Dawson and by all accounts his form suffered this season.

A good centre half to complement Hyppia and Henchoz is essential in my book.

I would start by selling Heskey and Biscan....and if I could get a good price for Diouff, Diao, Cheyrou and Riise I would take it.

I'm not convinced about Cisse, fingers crossed he'll succeed, but I have always liked Forsell and he has always scored. I think Forsell and Owen, with Baros and Pongolle as back up, wouldn't be too bad at all.

Anyone know much about Dawson - His name gets thrown around by the press but i have not seen him play bar one time. Does he have any pace, good touch etc. I wonder if we can afford Malbranque if we spend so much on Saviour Cisse. How much would we get for the dead wood?

Diouf won't be sold coz we would struggle to get half of what we paid for him. We would do well to get more than 1mil each for Diao, Biscan and Traore. Smicer and Riise would fetch 2 - 2.5 mil each + Heskey might get us 4mil. Sell a few of those and we could maybe afford Malbranque but then we would need to go out and buy a couple more squad players.

The board should take Morgans money.

Joe Cole is a player i like a lot but i don't want him at Liverpool. I my opinion he is a liablity in half the games he plays in. If he could find a decent level of consistany then maybe.

Smicer is a good squad player, Cheyrou is starting to show glimpses of why we signed him and Diouf is also useful.

I think to your in list you should add Carlos, Ronaldo, Pires, Henry and Nesta aswell.

Forssell is no better than we currently have. Svensson is not as god as Henchoz or Sami and isn't what we need, Dawson also wouldn't improve the side, he's a good prospect but he's not a top player yet.

Dawson is a good prospect, he's similar in style to Woodgate only not quite as quick. He's no slouch but he's not particularly pacey. He isn't going to improve the first 11 which is what we need.

Selling Smicer, Riise and Traore is stupid in my opinion. These players are all useful and can cover at least two positions. Smicer on his day is a very good player, Riise we all know can be class and has played well in the last two games since coming back into the side and Traore isn't a bad player at all i don't think. The season he played alongside Hyypia we were still playing deep. Everytime we played a high line "IE Valencia at home" he played well. He isn't a great player but he's not going to raise enough funds to bother selling and will probably come in useful at one point in the season.
