Jaysus, GH surely has fallen from grace!

I'm a big critic of his, but I will always salute him for some of the great games he gave us over the years......its a pity thats all in the past now.

If anyone has any other suggestions please add them.

The best football i have ever seen liverpool play under froggies rain is the second half of the baille match in the C.L. We were 3-0 down at half time and came back and drew 3-3.f##k load good it done in the end but jesus they played brilliant for those 45 mins.

roma 2-0 in the champions league at anfield when houllier came back. the atmosphere that night was frightening. we hadn't even won a game in that group stage but were somehow still in with a shout if we won by 2 goals. when you remember atmospheres like that and compare it to the recent game against marseille you can see just how far we have fallen.

The best game of the above for the way I felt after it was the Arsenal FA Cup final, robbing it at the end when for the entire match they were completley outclassed, from the depression of going 1-0 down to winning it 2-1, brilliant. The best result if the above was Roma away, to win 20 in a stadium where we should have never had a chance it was one of the best European results if any era. Having said that any of the wins against Manure were sweet.

I thought we played great football in the both the wins over united, but i've gone for the 3-1 for entertainment value.  They didn't know what hit them that day.  Just a shame we couldn't push on and overtake them at the top of the league.

Best game for me......the last 5 mins of the 2001 FA CUP final. Never have i thought liverpool can score 2 goals in the last 5 mins to win the match after arsenal outplayed us for 85 mins.

I was shouting so loud that i lost my voice for a few days.

hope owen gets back to that form .............

getting the 4th place is great but winning a trophy is something else. i hope we win the uefa cup.

Any chance of giving us the dates of those matches? I am interested to see when the most recent match was. I noted 7 of England's 10 lowest EVER ODI totals were in the last five years, sometimes these things stand out like a sore thumb

Sorry Owzat, I don't have the dates to hand nor have the time at the moment to look them up.

I think the last game was the 2-0 home win over Roma, and the 1-0 away win over UTD where Danny Murphy scored with the flick was roughly the same time....I think the Roma game was either February or ealry March of 2002 whereas the Murphy game was a few weeks earlier, but I could be wrong with that.

Houllier has given us some great matches, but the last "glory" day was probably the win over the scum in Cardiff 2003, which I forgot to include.

Not only has Houllier failed in comparison to former Liverpool greats, he has also failed in comparison to the standard he set himself when he came here.

Hard choice? i'd have to go for the Roma 2-0 home win in the champs league for performance and attitude just over the 3-1 win over the mancs when we steamrolled them!
But for the memories and occasion it has to be the FA cup and UEFA cup finals - both in the same week aswell!

Uefa win was some night wasn't it.  Kind of makes me feel guilty about giving GH so much stick when i think about some of those games...nah, he's still tactically naiive t#s#er.

JBG, I forgot to ask, by "best" do you mean in terms of football played, entertainment or result?
