Reds ready with Evra offer
by Graeme Bailey
Liverpool could be ready to offer Monaco the pick of their French talent to try and land Patrice Evra.
The French international is one of the most up and coming left backs in Europe and host of clubs are tracking him.
Spanish colossuses Real Madrid and Barcelona have been monitoring Evra for some time, while Internazionale and Juventus are also very keen.
However, English sides are also well aware of Evra's capabilities.
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger took an interest in Evra as far back as 2002, and Manchester United and Liverpool were not too far behind in checking on him - the only real surprise so far is that Chelsea have not become involved in the battle.
It is in fact Liverpool who look to have made one of the first moves for Senegal-born Evra - who is expected to leave the Stade Louis II in the summer, and the Principality outfit have already targeted Boavista's Nelson as a possible replacement.
Liverpool are now understood to have made contact with Monaco and told them that they can have money plus some of their French contingent - with Djimi Traore, Bruno Cheyrou and Alou Diarra, currently on loan at Lens, all rumoured to be on offer.
Evra, who turns 24 later this week, is expected to decide his future and which club he would like to join over the summer.
Never seen him before, anyone got any ideas on this fella?
