I still can't make my mind up about SG, he is a mint player and club captin but we could do with the money as Rafa doesn't exactly have the best squad, look at the Rooney situation, everyone said the bluesh!te would be nothing without himm but it made them a stronger team  :Oo:

Sometimes we need to either clean our red coloured glasses, or take them off.  First I'd live to say that I would hate to see SG leave.  But would it necessarily be a bad thing?  At the moment, everything revolves around SG, just like it did with Owen.  He isn't even playing well at the moment.  We would still have Alonso, and the money to buy more.  However, the team needs to start performing, if we are to attract the quality of players we need.  They will not come to LFC if we are not in Europe next year.

To me it feels that SG is holding the club to ransom.  If he is so commited to the club, then let him prove it.  Ever start playing the way we know he can play, or sign a 1 year extension to his contract.

Actions speak louder than words.  If he is so committed to the club, let him come out and publicly state it.  I haven't heard him say he is committed since last year (I think it was after Owen signed for RM). All we hear now are veiled threats, about needing to win trophies, his time is running out...etc...etc.. Let him prove his commitment, let him ask for a 1 year extension.

no one has the right to criticise someone like SG. My reason for this is simple : like any job, no matter how much you like it, we all strive to better ourselves, even if it means leaving what we love to achieve. i wouldnt blame SG if he left lfc, i would blame lfc for not fullfilling his and our dreams of total glory

I think he stayed but deep down wanted to go and although he is a world class player he is not adding too much in leadership at the moment.  A captain should take responsibility and move the team forward and something is not quite right between SG and the team.

I wont blame him if he does go but if he stays he has to step up a level. Sometimes we play like a nervous team looking over our shoulders and I dont blame him for the speculation etc but if he thinks he is leaving he should hand in the captaincy immediately

Yes, but if I kept telling my boss that the rest of his staff weren't up to my standard, my company car wasn't good enough, and my bonuses need to be looked at, I think I know what would happen.

My point is that you can't compare the world of footballer's to the real world.  For one, in what other business, do the employees get more than the managers!!!

SG should think about his future in the private of his own house, not on national television.

Judge, Gerrard signed a new contract with us in the summer but why? What was he expecting from Rafa in his first season? Premiership and Champions League glory?

He could had gone for Chelsea in the summer and we wouldn't had been in this situation again.

Good player but if he's going to play as he was on another planet he can go, obiviosly he has already made his final decision.

With the formation Chelsea play I don't see a place for him in their starting line up, strange as it may sound.

Unlike Liverpool, Chelsea won't be building a team around Gerrard therefore I think we'd see Gerrard for the player he really is. He's lucky that we are so bad we have to try to build a team around him at the moment.

If we were to build a team around anyone at the club it should be Alonso, not Gerrard.
