I agree nobody is bigger than the club, but i doubt Gerrard would be begging to come back. It would be more like, ill send you scouser's a card from Spain or Italy etc.
I would be very dissapointed if he did turn his back on the club like that, especially to join a rival in the same league.
But at the end of the day, it's his choice. If he make's the right one and stay's then fair play to him...if he goes then he shouldn't be here in the first place.
