here's a scenario

we can get anelka for like £6-8 million or Defoe for like £15-20million, is Defoe 2-3 times as good as Anelka? don't think so.

I remember the 86 team, Zimbabwe, Australia, Denmark, Ireland, Scotland, Wales all had players on the team, not England though.

Who cares about whether the England team has Liverpool players?

I can't think of one English player (ok - Rooney the ******en Scumbag aside) that is really that good for LFC to get excited about buying.

Off the top of my head, Lampard ? Terry ? Defoe ?

I think LFC would be pretty excited if we had any of the above joining us .

So we get a team without any english players.....OMG, thats awful!! Back in the mid 80's we won the FA Cup with not a single englishman on the park. So, lets ditch the 'foreigners' and become a Yorkshire Cricket Club of the football world. And then we can enjoy the amount of success they have....Sweet F.A.
Where do these people get these ideas from? Is it a post code thing?
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

As for Uefa backin up the thought of a minimum 8 home based squad players....illegal in this day and age of euro rights. Aint gonna happen shouldnt think. Sorry Lakes, you may have a good intention, improve the club and your own national team, but its a bit blinkered.

well it looks like football is going to take a bit of a shake up over the next few years,

Lars-Christer Olsson was interviewed today ahead of the draw and he seems set on changing the laws on players so it looks like this is all gimg to end up in court
