Am I correct in saying that two minority shareholders insisted on a poll being held for the above two even though David Moores would easily vote them back in, simply as a protest against Moores?

Latest from Skysports :

''Parry also confirmed that the club were considering two takeover offers, and not just that of local businessman Steve Morgan.

Morgan has launched a fresh £70 million bid, his fourth offer for the club, but has still to convince The Reds' hierarchy of his suitability.

Parry insisted, however, that Morgan is not being unfairly prevented from assuming control.

"Steve would like to make an investment as would a number of other interested parties," he continued.

"We are evaluating our options in a fairly measured way and we look forward to reaching the right conclusion.

"It is about reaching the right conclusion for the next 100 years, not for the next few months because you only sell the family silver once.

"There is a proposal from Steve Morgan which is still on the table and has not been rejected by us, and is absolutely receiving consideration."

I reckon Steve Morgan is being held as a 'Last Resort'

Sorry Leon, But if this US deal comes off, then look out for greater use of title.
In the US, the term Football means American Football, to avoid confusion they call our game Soccer.

If one American comes in as part of a consortium to buy one Premier League side, then do you think the sport will be re-named ?

yep, i bet it will, i dread the day when the USA starts to take a real interest in football, i could just imagine them changing the name to "soccer", and bringing in things like time outs and half time shows

think you are being a tad harsh, does Abramovich make all his players drink Vodka suring the winter to warm up for training and matches?

an American company owning us won't change a lot, but i understand your concern.

Things may change a small bit, there may be a bit of razmatazz at half time in the US but that doesn't mean the whole world has to do it, and as for time outs, that has to be a FIFA directive and i doubt its not gonna happen, lets face it, the whole world isn't gonna start calling football soccer just because the Americans do. They don't hold that much sway. Besides, American football isn't actually football, they should change its name to avoid confusion if anything. Like start calling it "runnythrowyandoccasionallyfootball" but I doubt that'll catch! :D

The sport is called football, and any sport that uses the foot is called football there are just different types. Football is Assosiation football, in Australia, football is what we know as Australian Football etc. Let's just get a bit of realism here, football is football end of.

If the yanks had their way you'd get more points for scoring from different zones.
