I personally think he struggles when he has the arm band.
With Stevie back, hopefully he will improve.

Sami Hyypia is a top quality player and would WALK into EVERY side in the league. The only one he's possibly struggle with is Chelsea. Infact, Hyypia would WALK into nearly EVERY SIDE IN EUROPE!!!
Some people seriously need there heads testing. He's probably had 5 bad games in 5 years.
SUPPORT THE ****** MAN!!!!

JBG, i'm on about overeacting. Every muppets doing it. It was a shocking performance by a team in a major transitional period with 3 new players playing, players out of position and no strikers.
****** happens.
We all know what needs to improve, so does Benitez. He's learning, this season is a write off anyways, we already knew that.
We shoul be building a base to build from and thats what i think Benitez is trying to do. He'll then start to bring in the right personel to solidify this base.
For me i think Riise should be the left back, Finnan on the right with Sami and Carragher in the middle. Kewell should ONLY play left wing. Luis Garcia should ONLY play off the front man.
That is ****** stu. The guy has no pace and bad passing and technique. You supported Houllier blindly, supported Murphy7 blindly and now you support Hyypia blindly. Houllier was sacked, Murphy thrown away and, mind my words, Hyypia is also finished here. What then Stu?
stu_the_red wrote:Oh alright sound, whatever, Hyypia's garbage then and needs replacing.

That Alonso aswell... well i tell you what Banana, on today's performance i'd take Murphy every time, at least Danny shown with effort how much he loved the club every time he played.
And golden boy Gerrard, what an impact he had today, was wonderful... did he even kick the ball? Cash in on him he's ****** aswell.

As of right now we should use 4-5-1 as I think we will be more effective with that kind of formation. Our midfield should be our main strength because with the players such as Alonso and Gerrard we should score from various areas from the pitch as we did earlier this season.

It was a 4-4-2 formation filled with fullbacks!
The back four lined up as usual, dropping deep in the first half as Boro kept possession.
In the second half we played further up the pitch, and Hyppia struggled as Hasseilbank turned him easily a few times.
The midfield AB had Hamman and Alonso sitting deep with Finnan and Riise out wide. The problem was that none of the midfield got forward to support the forwards, and the few times we did we actually looked like we could make something happen.
Garcia and Kewell were extremely disappointing, although the supply to them was poor. When they did get the ball they wasted possession and both players were guilty of delaying on the ball a number of times, allowing them to be dispossed.
Later Gerrard, Pongolle and Biscan came on. Gerrard didn't charge forward at all (probably due to lack of match fitness), instead he stayed back and passed the ball around. Biscan came on and tried to support the forwards, but he wasn't on long enough to influence the game.
Pongolle mostly played in the left channel when he came on, and his touch was hugely disappointing today. He got a sniff of the goal but his touch left him, allowing Southgate to put in a last gasp tackle.
