Steven Gerrard, Sammi Hyppia and Jamie Carragher are the only 3 current first team members who really try their best, although in fairness to Gonzalez Josemi and Steve Finnan, they more often that not try their best.

I've seen John Arne Riise a lot of times being interviewed on tv and he talks about loving Liverpool, but you wouldn't have thought so today. Its almost as if he's used to the occasional disasterous result and it doesn't bother him.

Loyalty and money are mutually exclusive in football nowadays (...except loyalty to money though!!!)

Another who will give his all is Biscan (and I will add Baros to this list as well). If given a choice of ability but no heart (e.g, Kewell) and full effort but limited ability (e.g, Biscan) I know who I will go for everyday.

I forgot to mention Baros.

Haven't seen the game yet and don't want to really. Oh well, I had a bad feeling about the game today. [Yellow kits suck]

John Barnes' Granny wrote:What galls me after today's performance was not a small town club like Middlesboro outpassing us and opening up our defence almost at will, it was the stoical look on the Liverpool player's faces as Boro did so.

i don't think you can consider m'boro as the same club as they used to be. they have to some great old and new talent, are well organised and well managed.

they gave us a true beating today and made us look ******. and we were ******.

its true that the point is the way so many players looked like they weren't ars*d. swapping shirts at the end? like it was the bloody charity shield or something? come on - do me a favour!

After seeing that we've lost not so good but had I've been here while the game was on I would had been more ticked.

[Notice how we have lost all games we've played in yellow kits this year, interesting. Praying didn't work this time.]

Part of our problem is Rafa's own learning curve. He comes from Spain, a league, like Italy, where to go away from home and get a point is seen as a good result. Cos of this, it's still in his nature to hedge his bets and pick a slightly defensive team and tactics, which might explain why our away form is so bad. He needs to learn fast that any team in the top 12-16 in this country can beat you at home and have top players in at least 3 or 4 positions. The stage we're at, we barely have that number of top players ourselves.

For me, we need players who are gonna sweat blood to get us back up the ladder. Kewell should be taken aside now and told that he's got till the transfer window to prove himself or he's out. His attitude is a ****** disgrace and I'm sick of players taking the ****** out of this club.

Hyypia seems to be coming in for a lot of stick lately - is it a coincidence that his form seems to have bombed since Henchoz has disappeared. I don't think so - Henchoz was always the underrated player at CB, and Babbel was the real cornerstone of our great defence 3 years back.

Fact is, I really believe Rafa is an absolute top manager, but we can't expect miracles. What we can expect is our players to give their all, and if they don't they can ****** off. thing that always struck me about Rafa's Valencia team was how much they battled for each other. He builds teams, and with time he'll get us back up.

Don;t forget, Ferguson took 4 years to win anyting at OT.

I can't believe this.

Sami Hyypia is a top quality player and would WALK into EVERY side in the league. The only one he's possibly struggle with is Chelsea. Infact, Hyypia would WALK into nearly EVERY SIDE IN EUROPE!!!

Some people seriously need there heads testing. He's probably had 5 bad games in 5 years.

SUPPORT THE ****** MAN!!!!

JBG, you should know better.

What?

Am I not allowed to criticise the team today after a dreadful performance?

Did you actually see the game?
Did you see our defence in chaos at crucial junctures in the game?
How Riise shuffled around on the side line, his shirt hanging out, disinterested?
Alonso's hospital passes?
Kewell and Garcia refusing to pass to each other and being repeatedly caught in possession as they dawdled on the ball?
Hyppia being turned inside out by Hasseilbank and looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights for the through ball for Zenden's goal?

I should know better?

If criticising the team after a hopelessly inept performance in which scarcely 3 Liverpool players tried a leg is wrong, then please tell me what's right, Stu.
