Part of our problem is Rafa's own learning curve. He comes from Spain, a league, like Italy, where to go away from home and get a point is seen as a good result. Cos of this, it's still in his nature to hedge his bets and pick a slightly defensive team and tactics, which might explain why our away form is so bad. He needs to learn fast that any team in the top 12-16 in this country can beat you at home and have top players in at least 3 or 4 positions. The stage we're at, we barely have that number of top players ourselves.
For me, we need players who are gonna sweat blood to get us back up the ladder. Kewell should be taken aside now and told that he's got till the transfer window to prove himself or he's out. His attitude is a ****** disgrace and I'm sick of players taking the ****** out of this club.
Hyypia seems to be coming in for a lot of stick lately - is it a coincidence that his form seems to have bombed since Henchoz has disappeared. I don't think so - Henchoz was always the underrated player at CB, and Babbel was the real cornerstone of our great defence 3 years back.
Fact is, I really believe Rafa is an absolute top manager, but we can't expect miracles. What we can expect is our players to give their all, and if they don't they can ****** off. thing that always struck me about Rafa's Valencia team was how much they battled for each other. He builds teams, and with time he'll get us back up.
Don;t forget, Ferguson took 4 years to win anyting at OT.
