Russia have been in a depespate state for some time, even if they did qualify for the Euros at the expense of Wales.

Portugal are getting rid of the old ****** like figo and couto and getting better players like ronaldo and carvalho

that is why they id well at Euro 2004, after losing to Greece Scolari realised changes needed to be made so he dropped Couto and Rui Costa and they made it all the way to the final. Portugla have a lot of good young talent in their ranks like Ronaldo, Deco, Quaresma, Paulo Ferreira etc, and should be a force in world Football for the next few years.

I think Deco and Ferriara are overated aswell as Rui Costa.

But Portugal have a very good centre back pairing, and they can build the rest of the team around that.

The one thing Portugal lack is quality strikers, Pauleta is overated, Postiga could be a good player, but he will never be outstanding.

Some quality strikers could make a huge difference to portugal.

Andrade scored an own goal yesterday agianst us.

I thought he was superb for Portugal in Euro 2004.

I saw that game on telly when I was away on holidays.

Ronaldo was fantastic....indeed, every Portugal player was great.

Hard to beleive that 4 days prior to that game they drew 2-2 with Leichtenstein.

well Pauleta has scored 6 goals in 5 games and Ronaldo is banging them in as well.

Portugal beat Luxembourg 5-0 2nite with Pauleta scoring 2 and Ronaldo 1.

Ronaldo is not a striker. And Pauleta is not of the highest quality, that is why he is playing in a second rate league.
