Agree, along with Mane he's probably been our best player since Christmas and he was fantastic again today.
He should have had a pen as well, if that challenge of Yaya's happens anywhere else on the pitch it would be given as a foul.

Yes I'm also becoming a fan of him. His confidence is high. He knows when to disrupt and when to push forward. He is becoming a very good CM...

Atleast 3 of Klopp signing are guaranteed starters that we are happy with. Matip, Wij and Mane.

This is why I'm quietly optimistic about Klopp bringing in five or six new faces this summer. Apart from Karius (who I think will come good eventually) they've mostly been on the money and improved the first 11. Even Klavan has looked decent, and he was only signed as a back-up.

Wijnaldum has done ok but bigger picture we need more than that from people to progress the team as a whole.

Hes very much the Dutch Lallana and clearly this is the profile we go for, one hes a good boy, he smiles at the camera, yes is a model professional and will do anything for the club. He will always give 100% and follow orders without question, and yes he can play in several positions.

All these attributes are fantastic  but sometimes a wrong un is the difference, players like Wijnaldumn will take you so far but we need winners and aggression, somehow we need to find and pay for something special and in turn this will bring out the best from Wijnaldum and the many we have like him.

His thread was so far back I was starting to think he didnt even have one. Great start to the season and he's contributing down both ends of the pitch. He's a big game player for us, always raises his game and impresses against better opposition.

There was/is a lot of talk about whether Fabinho will overtake Henderson in the pecking order for the no.6 role but Wijnaldum is just as worthy of a mention. Klopp has a few decisions to make when Ox and Lallana are back.

I love Wjnaldum. Always produces the goods in the big matches. Very reliable and technically very good. He has to start most matches, along with Keita and either Milner /Hendo.

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1333083/Liverpool-transfer-news-Jurgen-Klopp-Gini-Wijnaldum-Barcelona-Ronald-Koeman

Apparently talks on his future with Klopp today. Reading that article it says Gini played 64 times for Holland and scored 18 times and played 187 for us and scored 19 time. For Liverpool he plays as a defensive box to box midfielder and Koeman played him for Holland as a 10, hence the more goals. Maybe he wants to go to Barca as he will have more attacking responsibilities under Koeman and feels he is playing “out of position” for us. Cannot think why else he would want to leave and he has played more minutes than every player except VVD (originally why I thought he would want to leave until I looked it up).

At the end of the day I do feel adding Thiago to replace him will make us better even though I feel he is a very important part of how we play by the way he mops up, he doesn’t have the eye for the killer pass like Thiago and that is why we will be better.

Apparently he's held "positive talks" with Klopp and will probably stay and maybe extend his contract.
