Cheers CR, great input again .

Was smiling when Wijnalmdum said "I only had one conversation with him (Klopp) and straight after I wanted too sign for Liverpool"

Figured Kloppo was using his Jedi Mind Trick again   :D

Now i'm sure this lad will get his fair share of goals but i'm not convinced his best positon is CM. Looks like one that is probably more suited playing further up and getting into the box. Not entirely sure we needed a player like him to be honest. What we really need is a proper CM

till now, i have not seen the reason that we signed him.
wont it be better to play Can as DM, and Hendo further up the pitch?

He seems unclear on what his role in this team is. I know I'm not sure what it is yet. He's shown glimpses of confidence where he looks like he could be a decent player for us, but he hasn't done much so far.

Wasn't our first priority going into this vital window to offload our deadwood? So why are we buying squad players.

Here we go again....... feck me I hate this club.

Wijnaldum doesnt add any value to the team and considering the fee its a waste of money.

We should only be buying people that bring something different to the party and for me Wijnaldum doesnt, we bought him to play out of position, convert him into what we want.

Just buy a specialist DMF player and that at least brings us a proper solution and different kind of player.

I wouldn't write him off just yet, he's only been here a few weeks and no doubt still trying to find his feet.
The main thing is that he has got ability, he won the Dutch Player of the year award just before he signed for Newcastle so the lad can definately play.

Bit too early for the negative comments surrounding Wijnaldum. GIVE HIM A CHANCE.

He plays a similar role for the Holland national team as he does for us so he knows the role. I think he's still finding his feet here and looks nervous to make a mistake. I'm sure he'll make more darting runs and be more effective after awhile.

Forget about a few weeks, he wont develop into a player with a good first touch and decent positioning sense if he stays for another 20 years. We needed a CM who can receive the ball under pressure, bring others into play and dictate the tempo. One of the main reasons we struggle is because against the smaller sides, our CMs arent good enough to know when to drive forward, when to focus on flanks, etc. To top it off, their defending is sub-par.

Even with the little competition he has, he shouldnt be in the starting lineup for me. When Can is back I'd have Henderson and Can playing with Lallana (who is equally at terrible in the position and like Wijnaldum needs to be playing a bit higher up and not losing the ball in the middle of the park once every couple of possessions) pushing a bit higher up.

Don't think anyone should be or is writing him off. It's more a question of whether he us the type of player we really needed at this moment of time. We really need a dominant force in central midfield and I dont think Wijnaldum is that. He will get goals and is good at what he does but I think we needed a different kind of midfielder. Maybe JK has his heart set on Dahoud and will wait for him and thinks Wijnaldum can do a job in the mean time, who knows

There is a clear sense of desperation creeping in and were only three games gone. I am as impatient as the next person but for fu'cks sake lets give the new players a chance? From what I have seen of Wijnaldum he looks decent, possibly a good player. But we cant fu'ck that up by being on his case so soon?
