I'm sure he's gutted there's no room for him on your bedroom walls ,positively crest fallen

Anyway I'm suitably intrigued.....so tell me Stu ,in this little dream sequence you have about leaving a bit on Skrtels chin ,what happens after you land this dig ?
Does the big man reel back and then give you personal assurances he will play better ,or does he say "wake up Stewart this is the last time I'm shouting you" ?

Skrtel has been playing well for a few games now but I also think that he's not good enough to be a starter for a team that wants to challenge for the title. But to suggest that he should be rid off is stupid. He would be an excellent back-up for us. But otherwise, Sakho and Agger should be our starters.

I agree. Skrtel is in the same zone as lucas in my book and we need better in the first team to progress

Probably say the same about several players in the team to be honest.

I'm a big fan of Skrtel. He's big and strong but surprisingly he's agile too for a lad of his build. He's improved in this area and credit should go to himself and staff. In previous seasons he's been like a bull, thundering and stamping around, a menacing figure but always prone to smash up the proverbial shop.
No wonder then that BR, with his keep-ball philosophy, applied to the Liverpool traditions would deem Martin to be surplus to requirements. He wants players who are comfy with the ball at feet, and preferably both feet.
But I like that BR is prepared to learn. Some think he's stubborn, but he's actually very subtle. And there's the big bruiser out on the pitch, fighting for every ball, his bulk and aggression devouring all but the smartest or strongest of opponents, and Brendan realises he's got one heck of a defender.
But for Skrtel to fit, he needs to put in some running and aerobic work, and by the looks of him, and his improvements, I'd say the big fella's stock is rising.

I'm really struggling to understand some of the harsh criticism aimed at MS. I think so far except for the odd understandable mistake he's been very good. For me the criticism should be more towards at what he has got around him. Johnson prior to his injury was awful. Cissoko has had a very shaken start albeit he is now improving. Sakho has been inconsistent. Toure is not the long term answer. Agger is ridiculously injury prone.

There is only one defender that should be sold, the liabilty called Agger.
Only problem is that many thinks of him as some for of messiah as he can pass the ball well for a defender....
The actual defending? Not very well...

I'd get rid of them both personally.

You're right I would.

I think if you took Coutinho and Suarez out of this side we'd struggle to get in the top half and I believe if they both played for Everton they'd probably win the league.

Henderson's stepped up, Gerrard is playing alright, Enrique is a good player, Sahko shown promise and Sturridge has been in superb form...

The rest for me don't contribute enough and I can no longer take any more of Skrtel's brain dead defending. Single handedly costing us the City and hugely contributing to the Chelsea defeat in the same week was the final straw for me.

You mean Coutinho who isn't as good as Oscar, Sakho who is a waste of money and Sturridge who should be a bench warmer?
Who would have thought those 3 no hopers would have contributed to our good season thus far?

Take away the top 3 players out of any side and you'll have the same result, Stu.
