he was only loaned by real so he could get 1st team experience at a decent level. at the time i thought it was a bit naive paying 5 mil for a lad that was going to halt the progress of lads already here like shelvey,hendo and suso. the fact that he's not being played kinda stinks when we could have put that 5 mil to the 3 we offered for dempsey or spent it elsewhere.
he does look like he could be a decent player but i think we were mugs paying 5 mil to have him on loan.

to be fair to sahin he`s not the only recent arrival from the bundesliga (i know we loaned him from madrid but you know what i mean) who`s struggling to make an impact in the prem, the previously highly rated kawaga can hardly get a game at united and the 2 lads at arsenal, podolski and mertesacker, havent tore up any tree`s either.
sahin`s loan fee is staggeringly high for just one season (it`s as high as a lot of transfer fee`s, everton signed that kevin mirallas (who ripped us to shreds in the derby) on a permanent deal for a similar amount) and it was probably a calculated gamble by the club who probably thought a quality player like sahin maybe the difference between us finishing 7th or finishing 4th.
looking back it`s not really a surprise that arsenal baulked at the proposed loan fee and pulled out of the deal, and up to this point their decision looks a wise one but there is still half a season left and things can change.

No doubt BR is impressed by him but who was the joker who sold him in the first place for such a dirt cheap price?

ince looks okay for blackpool but i`m not convinced he`s good enough to come back and command a first team place here.
i think we should be trying to sign players like suarez, alonso or even joe allen, what i mean is players that get in the team and make that particular shirt their own.
we have enough squad type players, what we need is players that can come in and make an impact.
is ince any better than sterling or assaidi?
i`m not a huge fan of theo walcott but i`d rather have someone like him than ince mainly because walcott is more likely to come here, command a shirt and make an instant contribution.
we cant keep on planning just for the future because as arsenal have found out if you are not successfull in the present your better players end up leaving, for a decade now we`ve been hearing how great arsenal will be in a few years time, i remember their reserve side beating our first team 6-3 at anfield and the press raved how great they were going to be in the future but that day never arrived.
we need to bring quality players in in january, even if it`s just one or two i dont mind just as long as they improve the starting XI as opposed to improving the squad.

We clearly don't have enough squad players, which was patently obvious when Suarez was banned. Neither Sterling or Assaidi is an out and out striker. Regardless of your opinion of Ince or Sturridge, they are dedicated strikers and do improve the squad.

Ince is ideal in the sense that he has a talent yet is young enough to be happy with a bit part role, initially.

Its a bit of a balancing act.  We should be buying 1 or 2 top quality players every year (not every transfer window) and also investing in the youth players for the future.

ince was never an out and out striker for us, he was a wide player and sturridge isnt a classic `leader of the line` either.
imo we dont need those types of `squad` players, we already have suarez, sterling, suso, assaidi, gerrard, downing, cole and now even shelvey and enrique who can play in the front 3, plus within a year or so the likes of morgan, adorjan, ngoo etc will be knocking on the door of the first team squad.
we have numbers we just dont have the quality.
i`d rather we went out and bought even just one player that would be a fixture in the starting XI than 3 or 4 that would be in and out of the side.

I never claimed that Ince was an out and out striker for us, however he is this role for Blackpool and has impressed in that role. Based on his success in this role we clearly got it wrong about him as a winger.

Whilst you do not rate Sturridge he is a Striker, out and out. His goals for Chelsea have primarily come from when they have played him as an out and out striker, mainly under Di Matteo. In that list only Suarez would be selected in front of Sturridge if we bought him. I actually think that if we sign Sturridge, Rodgers will start him with Suarez either as one of the wide strikers or behind him in the hole.

In that sense he will walk into the team. Opinion of course, but I'll be happy to take the credit when it materialises.

SCS i used to rate sturridge, when he was coming through the ranks at city and on loan at bolton i thought he was going to be a brilliant player but i think he has regressed since then.
his career has gone backwards since he went to chelsea and he just seems disinterested to me, he looks like a player just going through the motions.
chelsea obviously think the same because they arent exactly moving heaven and earth to keep him and if reports are to be believed even his mate brendan rodgers wasnt convinced enough about him last summer to offer him a permanent deal.
maybe he just needs to get away from chelsea or maybe he`s just another one of these players that dont live up to their initial hype.
by the sounds of it we`ll soon find out.

That said if he brings Sturridge here I will lose a lot of condidence in him

If Rodgers needs to to learn his trade then he can do it elsewhere.
