I did mate, but I'm not comparing his attitude or the way he speaks, I'm only saying he has a long way to go in terms what he has to achieve to be even considered a great manager

The comparison is not about achievements or greatness, it couldnt possibly be. That would be ridiculous.
Shankly didnt start off being great, by the way...

It's far too early to be comparing him to our greatest manager (yes I rate Shankly higher than Paisley), Shankly not only talked a great game, his teams played great games. Rodgers has come in and has impressed with his knowledge of our club, of football and seems strong minded which is brilliant, but he hasn't achieved anything here at the moment, so any comparison to past greats is just ridiculous and should be ridiculed.
Boxscarf » Sat Oct 06, 2012 5:20 pm wrote:There is no grounds for your silly comparison. It's not about who did what in their first season. Shankly was our manager for 15 years. Rodgers has been our manager just over 3 months. Shankly won 3 league titles in the top division, two FA Cups, a UEFA Cup and 4 Charity Shields. Rodgers has won nothing yet, so to compare the two is plain ridiculous, it's also disrespectful to Shankly's memory. Bill Shankly was the greatest manager this club has ever had and probably will ever have and for you to come out with such nonsense is an absolute disgrace. I'm offended by your nonsense. Next you'll be comparing Houllier's tenure as manager to Bob Paisley's tenure.

Some people here need to take a chill pill

No one can predict what will happen.
More to the point is, how long should a Liverpool manager get to prove himself, bearing in mind the expectation in the job
